The original Soviet ZIL operated on a unique 4-stroke cycle in which all 8 cylinders were synced to the same stroke simutaneously. In other words, all 8 cylinders compressed together and all 8 cylinders applied the power stroke together.

This resulted in a tremendous burst of acceleration every fourth rotation of the crankshaft; which looked like this: --|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|-- (although a certain amount of vibration had to be tolerated).

Indeed, on the massive power stroke, blue flame would burst from the tailpipes giving the ZIL an additional jet-like thrust component. It is rumored that this unique and powerful 4-stroke cycle was named both for it's signature blue flame and the name of it's principal developer -- the "Bleu Cycle".

The first driver to harness the power of the Bleu Cycle, one "Uncle Joe" is today credited with the driving style known as "DeathRace 2000".

Sadly, it may take time to incorporate ZIL technology into the RDX as most of the principal development scientists were um....purged.
