No, but you will probably have faster times on the 2wd because of weight, but its still going to be the same engine tuning for both.

I looks like it is on guys. Holy crap I've been waiting for this on my 2010. I'm down in So. Florida and I received this email from my guys (AJ Performance) last night @ 10:30pm:

Hi Jason,

If you're still looking to improve the performance of your RDX, Hondata has just come out with a reflash for it:

"Available now, the 2010-2011 Hondata RDX reflash raises the performance of the Acura RDX to a new level. From a 33 ft lb torque boost down low to a 26 HP increase at the top end, the additional power is available immediately anytime and anywhere. At $295 this is simply the best bang for buck upgrade available for the RDX you will ever install."

I replied and will get a time setup when he confirms. I checked Hondata's website and it is true for the flash, not the standalone ECU though...
I'll keep you posted with progress.

Final testing being done on the test vehicle right now. They didn't expect any issues so should be ready really soon.

Test Results

While the results here may look a little different from those on the web site the reflash for the 2010-2011 is essentially the same as the previous model RDX.

- Same boost settings
- Same air fuel ratio changes
- Same cam angle changes

The graph here is scaled differently meaning the before and after lines are closer together than on the RDX reflash page.

One thing very obvious on the dyno is that ECU is very active in altering the ignition timing based on air intake temps / knock etc (and fuel quality). We had very little air moving across the intercooler in this test so the results may be a little conservative.

We've had reports of improvement in fuel economy. It's not something we have had opportunity to test, but think on this. If you do 20,000 miles per year at 20 miles per gallon thats 1000 gallons. At $4.00 per gallon that's $4000. A 5% economy improvement (1 mpg) translates to a saving of $200.

Was the testing done on an AWD or FWD version? Also, would it matter which version you have when purchasing the reflash? Thanks in advance

Testing was done on both a 2 and 4WD RDX. Dyno work was done on a 2WD. The ECUs have different part numbers. If you send a 2WD RDX ECU you will get a 2WD reflash. Send a 4WD ECU and you will get the 4WD reflash.

Special thanks must go to RudyC310 for his assistance in making this happen.

2 questions is the A/F the same as the 07-09 models?

and will there be different reflash offered with bigger injectors to increase the boost and possibly beable take more bolt ons like intake, downpipe plus cat back exhaust?

Edit: just saw your thing stating A/F is the same.. so only need the second question answered

Just checking in, I haven't been around for a few. Everything is great. This reflash is a must if you want to see some real top end power. Down low its stronger by a little but is most noticeable accelerating through the whole range. Worth every penny and the most gains you will see for the price

Just got mine back this afternoon and just finished installing it. Looking forward to going for a rip and seeing what it does. i also drive 40 km each way to work so i will try and keep a post on fuel mileage since the price for 94 octane here in Canada is HUGE!

Hey Rudy, was yours the FWD?

If so how is the torque steer?

On our stock fwd it is very evident, then add 40 tq.? You feel that?

I'm told we have a one legger...no LSD, only VSA (braking spun whl)

Have you ever done a pull with VSA off? Mad torque steer?

Also, can you verify hondata "reports of improved f/e"?

So boost and f/e increased across the range?

Or increased f/e out of boost only, with decreased f/e under boost?

Thanks,

Doug

Well its almost been a week of having the Reflash. Its unreal. The things I have noticed are how smooth the vehicle runs. The power and torque is definitely there. The car is a lot quicker than before. I went to Whistler on Saturday and the drive was unreal. I just wish I had my new tires and rims on. Snow tires get pretty floaty at high speeds...lol
The main reason I got the reflash was for fuel mileage. What a difference. I am very impressed! This mod is a must! I honestly cant think of a bad thing to say.

Do you need to disconnect the battery before taking out the ECU (to ship it out to Hondata)?

Thank you for the update!

Guess what came in the office for me today -

Can't wait to install it later on today.

Also regarding disconnecting the battery; I had ask Hondata and they advise it wasn't needed.

Sorry haven't visited in a bit. We dynoed the 2wd version and I tested it for the weekend. Although the 2wd power and overall performance was great, it definitely had bad torque steer, but that's the case with all 2wd vehicles over 200hp from what I have found, it's just the nature of it. I currently have a 4wd with the reflash as my daily friver and it is awesome. The 2wd overall feels quicker because of weight and such, but cornering with the 4wd makes it the winner.

I have not seen any FE improvements since all my driving is street and I hardly get on the highway. I just get bad gas mileage in stock and chipped mode, so i am not even going to comment on that part. Overall like I said before this mod is the best HP and TQ you will get for the price. Even with TQ steer, the performance gained is well worth it, especially on the top end of the powerband.

Love it but I have to adjust the setting on my bov since it was never tested with a aftermarket one on.

I set it to medium setting and it threw a code.
I am currently on the softest setting - the car zip around a lot faster.

Can't wait to get a downpipe also.
Must have plus Hondata turn around time was very fast.
