Parts - where, how much:

Hey all,

Inspired by Azzie's type-S list, I thought it might be helpful to list parts/deals we've found out there.

I went to Church Automotive for my Hondata on Fri. ...just what the Dr. ordered!

Last Tuesday I got the ball rolling on my brakes, I ordered cross drilled and slotted rotors from Brake Performance $140F/$113R.

I also went to Stillen, ordered a set of matching pads (Hawk HPS didn't make fronts). I used to have Stillen pads on an MR2, so I'm sure I'll be happy with those pads ($112.84 for the complete set).

A local racing shop I've gone to for ~10 years ordered me the K&N typhoon for $245 and stainless brake lines (4) for $89.

(Dynamic Autosports in Lake Forrest, Ca. Online it's Gruppe-S.com).

Maybe some of this info will help out the next gut lookin' for parts too.

A listing of parts/deals to help new RDX owners get started with their mods... GENIUS! I was eye'n to get the K&N Typhoon kit as well and I'm serioudly jealous about your reflash you ordered, too. So are you upgrading your brakes because of the extra hps and torque from the reflash? I'm just curious if that's what's recommended? Also, don't you have to mail in your ECU to Hondata? I read it can take 2days at most to get it back reprogrammed. Just curious if I should be prepared to find an alternative means of travel when I do the same... thanks and very nice ride, BTW!

I needed brakes anyways, the stock pads suck. They go quickly.

Now with the extra torque, I REALLY need brakes...but all my parts should be here soon.

Yes, usually there is down time if you send in your ECU. Or you can pay like double and buy a new programmed ECU.

I'm lucky. I drove to a shop here in SoCal that is close to Hondata. They just drove my car over and brought it right back ready to go.

ucsmfu - Thats a great price you're moving that intake for. Make sure you post pics of the replacement!

I know you arent the first person here to do the REFLASH, but what were your thoughts and impressions. I realize that everyone has there own opinions, I am just curious on your review. I have a 2010 and been seriously thinking about it. I live in Canada, and I know the turn around time is almost 10 business days. I have minor surgery next month and am out of commission for a bit, so if I do it, it will be during that time!

It's so very much worth the money.

So much more useable power, and the newfound torque moves the 4,000+ lbs MUCH better.

Everything is factory smooth and runs really great so far, no rough idling of anykind, odd shifting, or anything like that. Spools quickly at the bottom end with a big smooth wave of torque.

The top end is strong now too...it keeps pulling all the way.

Great freeway machine...the car really pulls the way it was meant to.

If you're gonna have some downtime anyways I'd say it's a definite must.

I have a Cobb accesport on my 02 WRX (stage 2 map now, w/Turboback exhaust), I'd say between the Cobb, and the Hondata, the improvement over stock is better in the RDX than the stage 1 map (no other mods)was on the WRX.

Just called my local dealer and they estimate ~ 7days to ship my ECU to Hondata and back. No downtime on the horizon either... I might have to call in sick for a week!

Thanks for the personal review of your reflash experience. I'm so jealous...
