Hondata IM Gasket Install

Hey there Acurazine,
Picked up one of these gaskets for my 08 RDX about a month ago and haven't gotten around to installing it yet. Before posting this, I used the search function and was unable to come up with the answers I am looking for, so thanks in advance for your patience . I'm wondering if it is necessary for me to drain the coolant in order to install? Also whether anybody made any modifications/cuts for it to fit. I have the K20 version. Thanks!

No need todrain the coolant or modify the gasket. Ignore the three openings in between the runners of the head where the stock gasket has cut outs. I thought it strange as well, but no issues.

I generally cut the a couple of the lower bolt holes (to the outside) so I can start those bolts and drop the gasket in place so it is easier to line up.

Wow, I installed the Hondata Gasket a few years back. Don't remember it being too difficult, other than what CS Money said, remove IC and such. Did not have to modify at all though, as it was remove the old, and install the new one. Oh yeah, for some reason, I was trying to put in on "reverse" and thought they sent me the wrong one. Who knew there was only one way to put it on, it looked symmetrical to me at first. So I ended up doing the IC removal twice for the same thing. Then I replaced the IC at a different time. I remember being quite proficient at intercooler removal and replace by the time all of that was over. Now I just drive the car. Forgot the mods I did back in 2015.

The rear bolts on the inter-cooler are the biggest pain in the ass to remove and put back in if I remember correctly
