Hondata Ecu
Questions for those who have the reflash:
Does MPG go down at all?
Is the performance diff noticeable as a stand alone product, can you feel more "grunt"? I'm coming from a G35 2003 and it was just a machine!

It Boost kick better so you don't have to press gas pedal so hard to pick up speed
If you drive hard will drop 2 MPG or more.
Not that big different stock and reflash but yes you can feel the different in power.
I get around 15MPG Average driving around city.
But I don't know why people buy turbo car and drive slow. Should buy 4 cyl. RV4.

I love it, everything in the previous post is true. The vehicle moves "right now"! It drives like it should have when it came from the factory. The x3 doesn't even come close now. I might like this better then my G35 in a little while.

My MPG is roughly the same. I check it every tank and it's always been +/- 5% giving the same type of driving.
I didn't experience anything ground breaking with it - just a decent jump in power. It drives similar to when it was stock in terms of spool time from rest and throttle response. It has a bit more grunt in the midrange, but the biggest difference is at 4000rpm+ because the boost is a bit higher and doesn't trail off.

Anyone had the reflash throw check engine light? What about intake? Those are my only hesitations in getting either. Have a K&N Typhoon on our 06 Civic and it throws CEL's about twice a month, sometimes more.

I've had the K&N Typhoon for about 6 months, and never had an alert code.
Once or twice, under very hard, sustained acceleration, it seemed to backfire back through the intake. But never displayed a code.

Never had a check engine with the Hondata or K&N. I do get the odd intake backfire with corresponding loss of power, but it's only at about 3/4 throttle and between the first and second shift.

I have the cp-e CAI and the Hondata reflash. Runs as smooth as it did from the factory, with more and sooner low end grunt and it definitley runs harder on top. With a little restraint, it gets slightly better MPG than stock, but I have seen nothing like the 2 MPG claimed improvement I read in one review. I'm glad I did it, makes the car more enjoyable on a daily basis.

ECU under warranty anyone?
I would like to get the ECU reflash soon but have the extended warrantee for another 40k which will put me @ 100k mi... My question is have any of you guys who have flashed or bought another flashed ECU is: Did you buy it while still under warrantee, and how transparent is this mod to your local dealer? Did anyone have issues getting regular maintenance under warrantee with this flash? Thanks!

They basically just said the way to program is set up, there is no way to detect the difference, even with the scan tools.

Except for the big, Hondata on the ecu in plain sight. You could take it off, I guess. But I still would rether have my $1300 ecu out so they have no chance of fooling with it or the warranty.

If you get the reflash only they come with 2 HONDATA decal.
you don't have to put it on if you don't want to.
dealer not gonna know unless you tell them.
If the the dealer upgrade the reflash ecu you have to send back to HONDATA to reflash again. small fee.

I bought mine under warranty. According to Hondata, there is no way for your dealer to "see" the mod unless they somehow put it in sport mode and go to 7200 rpm.

so...since the hondata has been out for quite awhile...is it safe to say that unless you are basically hammering the car or putting it over 4k rpms, theres really no difference in drivability?
