Brembos or BBK(Big Brake Kits) do nothing for stopping power.
the larger caliper and larger rotor is used to dissipate heat, this means less brake fade and consistent pedal feel through SEVERAL SEVERAL high speed runs(think like a road course or an autoX course, these are where BBK's shine.)
in addition, calipers are spec'd to the car.
this means if you decide to take a caliper from a different car, you might upset brake bias on the RDX.
and you've already stated that the RDX isnt a feather, upsetting brake bias will net you longer stopping distances with shorter pedal travel.
doesnt sound like an upgrade to me.
a final note, traction plays the BIGGEST ROLE in stopping distances.
the best upgrade that I DID for brakes was to upgrade tires.
I chose a dedicated summer tire, and the difference in tire made stopping UN-REAL!

^why?
you want to endanger yourself and your family because you want something aesthetically pleasing?
the 2nd Gen RL has a BBK from the factory.(not brembos)
the 3rd gen TL has Brembo BBKs.
only two cars that have BBKs.
and seriously, the automatic TL's without brembos have stopped putting on the RL's BBK kit, because there is no benefit with lots of cons!
there isnt one positive other than "looking cool"
THe TL does not come with rear BBK's
while other cars do, ie: sti, evo, g37, etc...
but adding these brakes to the TL will FUCK up brake bias, stopping longer.
now, why in the hell would you want to stop longer, especially on the "not so light RDX"???

and there are no "brembo" logo on the TL's caliper. I know because I have a 6MT 3G TL.
there's a white decal that says "Acura" on it.
the RL's big brakes are not Brembo. I forgot who manufactured their brakes but its not brembo.
they also have a white decal that says "Acura" on the face of the caliper.

yup, the 2nd gen RL and the 3Rd gen TL are the only cars that came with a BBK stock.

Brembo's are BBK's.....
and the RL's BBK isnt Brembo branded...its a different manufacture..
I'll reiterate, the RL and the TL are the only two cars from Acura that have A BBK. BIG BRAKE KIT.
The TL's BBK is BREMBO branded.
while The RL's BBK is another brand.
so, go ahead and ask for a list again..
p.s. I can get you the technical data of the square footage of each piston for each caliper and what the Master cylinder can move, but you keep on insisting on this list that consist of only 2 cars......with one of them not even being a brembo caliper...

Who makes the brakes on the 2nd gen RDX? Someone posted in this forum that Brembo's were in place for all Acura's that had the big "Acura" emblem on the calipers. New RDX fits that criteria and the pistons look pretty meaty on the new one, but I am not certain of the validity of them being Brembo's. That statement may have only applied to the TL-S...

The 2nd gen RDX DOES NOT have Brembo calipers. It probably has standard NISSIN calipers. Take a look at this:
http://www.oemacuraparts.com/parts-c...is/front-brake
1) Parts #6 and 7. These are very simple 2 piston calipers. Brembo starts from 4+ piston calipers. Also, check their price - 171$ (exactly the same cost as for the 1st gen RDX calipers). Do you think Brembo caliper starts from 171$ each ? ))
Brembo calipers for TLS cost 339$ each on the same site.
2) Big "ACURA" is not stamped on the caliper. Its just a piece of plastic - Part #10 (Caliper Cover).

I'm planning to do the same with my fugly 1st gen rear calipers. The only issue with this is they should be bolted instead of glued. But they make calipers look way better than they are.

Ps....I don't mind hijacking the thread since the "list of cars" has been talked about more than a few times already!

Caliper cover arn't gonna make the rear brakes any bigger.
