RDX Gas Milage

Considering buying a 2008 or 2007 AWD Acura RDX. Anyone out there have an opinion on gas milage? Everything I read talks about 17 city and 22 highway, but want to know real life milage. Thanks

60% hwy, 40% city, average about 19-20 combined
100% hwy about 20-21 mpg at 80 mph.
got as high as 23-24 mpg at 60-65 mph on level ground.

I did the hondata ECU reflash 2 years ago and it gave me an extra 1 mpg return on my investment you see above along with +25 extra hp.

Ive been getting 22/23 and with hondata I can get 24.5 but I have the 09 model which in my opinion gets better air flow to the engine vs the 10-12 model.

Im also running the heavy 19's from acura.

Unless price is a consideration, I would lean toward the 08 with tech as a 1st choice.

Upgrades include:
- auto dim rearview mirror
- dual position memory for driver seat and side mirrors
- personalized settings for each driver on the updated M.I.D. (radio, door lock/unlock, headlight timer, etc..)
- a little softer suspension (but still pretty tight)
- another year to address any techical issues
- bluetooth on base and tech with steering wheel controls

There are a few more goodies with Tech models compared to base:
- ELS sound system
- Navi/back-up camera
- XM traffic
- additional voice commands

Both the 07 and 08 (tech or base) are excellent vehicles. Can't go wrong with any version you pick.

Bought my '07 used with around 54k miles on it. That was maybe two years ago or so, and it's now pushing 95k miles. Around town, I average around 18mpg with 93 octane. I drove from Tuscaloosa, AL to San Antonio, TX recently and averaged around 20mpg on the way down... Interstate all the way. On the way back, to avoid gameday traffic around Baton Rouge, I took a lot of FM roads in Texas. Speed limit on most of those was 70 with some slowing down through towns on the way. Averaged around 22mpg on the way back.

2011 with 45k miles.
17-19 mpg around town, 19-21 mpg on extended freeway runs.
My around-town mileage would be better if I could keep my foot out of it, but blowing away those unsuspecting Beemer drivers is just so much fun!

2011 with 30,000, avg. overall mpg is 24+. Combo of hwy, hills, curves and some congested commuter highway driving....and not a granny driver. I was hoping for a few mpg more, but it sounds like I am getting pretty good mpg after reading the comments. Using 91 octane usually, occasionally higher if no other option.

2011 with 58K mi. 19-20 mpg mixed, 22 w/mostly freeway.
Its not about how fast we drive, its how fast we get to cruising speed. I'm not wasting time if there is an opening.

The point is if you want good handling and acceleration, get an RDX. If you want fuel economy, look elsewhere.

I've been recording my fuel mileage on Fuelly.com.

2009 Acura RDX w/ Tech
19.3 MPG average over 256 fill-ups.

I generally get ~300 miles per tank of gas. I'd say I'm 50% city and 50% highway driving. The mileage goes way up if I'm on the highway a lot. My average highway speed is 70 mpg and I don't shy away from the accelerator.

I have broken the 25 mark on a tank a few times, but typically I'm around 23 mpg (indicated closer to 24, but it reads high against actual measurements). FWD 2010 w/115k miles.

Posted this before, but reading over 22 MPG at nearly 9k miles so far. That is probably a bit optimistic, as most people say it reads high. But I can't get down to 15 mpg doing purely city driving even if I tried.
