I am considering purchasing an RDX in the near future. I am trying to decide between that and a Lexus RX350. My question is how is the paint quality of the Acura, being honda's luxury brand do they have better paint quality then honda? I have a 08' Civic SI, and the paint is not as durable as I would like. I am hoping my next vehicle has a better quality paint job. Any info would be appreciated.

I've owned Honda’s and Acura’s and the paint is about the same for both. I have a 3M clear bra on my TSX since 2006 (+70,000 miles) and that has helped with chipping on the front end; but, my TSX hood is looking a little pitted because of the thin paint. The RDX (+48,000 miles) does a little better because it is taller and the road debris usually doesn't go up past the hood. The large plastic front bumper doesn't chip or show impact strikes that much. I decided not to get the clear bra for the RDX for that reason. Both cars are garage kept, washed weekly, and waxed several times a year. I’m thinking I might have to repaint the TSX hood and maybe the front end at around 120,000 miles because of road debris.

I’ve noticed the lighter white/tan/sliver colors do better compared to the darker carbon grey/red/black/blue as far as paint fading from sun damage. The only two Hondas I had that did not need a paint job after 100,000 miles from sun fading were a tan and a white accord. I live in the southwest with +350 days of sunshine.
