Garmin Nuvi GPS install
I wanted to have my GPS mounted semi permanently and not on the windshield (suction cups) with the power cord out of the way.
Blendmount.com has many mounting options for radar detectors to be installed on the rear-view mirror and I thought that I would try to use one for mounting the GPS.
I researched all there mounts and decided that the BV1-2001 mount for the Valentine 1 radar detector would best suit the project. Along with the mount I had to order a Garmin accessory mount to attach the GPS to the BlendMount.
For power, I cut the Garmin charge cord wire, soldered the ends for strength, and pushed them into the receptacle behind the Mirror.
The project came out pretty good!

Nice! I was wondering how I would mount mine... I am underwhelmed by the GPS in the RDX. The input and manipulation of data is cumbersome, to say the least. It's not user friendly at *all*
Add to that the fact that I live in God's country and there's a lot of roads that may or may not be on the maps (don't know, haven't verified, but read the warning of the limited metro "full coverage" areas). I think I'll stick with my Garmin and leave the display on audio. Now, with this article, I can do it without it being so obtrusive.
