Static from sound system
I tried searching for this as I know I've read about it somewhere but couldn't find it.
I've started to get static when playing music from my iPod or CD player. I don't really hear it when listening to XM or FM/AM. Has anyone else had this problem? I remember reading that some people have had their entire audio systems replaced to fix the problem.
The issue is that right now it's random but I'm noticing it more. So before I go to the dealer I want as much info as possible before they say "Sorry, we don't hear it."

Good question? I've only heard it when driving so don't know if it's coming from my rear speakers. I do notice it coming from the front and center speakers though.

I get bad noise from iPod, CDs, and radio. I am going to try and replace the door speakers since I don't think its coming from my center channel or sub. Just odd that it sounds fine at high volumes. Normally blown speakers just always sound like crap. I am concerned it could be the amp as well or a bad connection or ground.

Found my problem
I thought my issue was the amp or head unit because all of the door speakers made the same static sound and it was more noticeable at low volume.
WELL I FOUND THE ISSUE AND I WOULD HAVE TO BELIEVE IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
I removed a door speaker and hooked up a test speaker to the vehicle speaker wiring. It sounded fine. Then I looked at the stock speaker and noticed the rubber surround suspension for the cone was pulling away from the speaker basket. I pulled all of the door speakers and ALL 4 SPEAKERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.
my solution was to peel away the surround and remove all of the failed adhesive and re glue the surround to the basket.
I tested all 4 speakers and they now sound perfect.
this is an easy repair.
these speakers are ELS and are actually high quality midrange speakers. You can see where the rubber surround suspension has came loose from the speaker basket. This is an easy repair.
