Seats and mirrors have a mind of their own
Seats and mirrors have a mind of their own
Recently I noticed that my seat position is never staying where It should even if I save it to the 2 button. Also my passenger mirror will randomly move and will not stay where i put it, most noticbly when reversing it keeps trying to move around which makes parallel parking a real annoyance. Any idea what could be causing this or even potential fix?
If your mirror selector is set on the passenger side, the mirror will tilt down automatically when in reverse to help with visibility. It should tilt back up when you take it out of reverse, but if it isn't maybe there are other issues with the mirror. You can move the selector switch to the center or left to turn that feature off completely.
For the seat, if you have some settings saved to position 2, but unlock the car with remote 1, the seat will adjust to whatever is saved in position 1. The number on your remote doesn't necessarily coincide with what the car recognizes. Try saving your settings to position 1 and see if that helps. (it could also just be that your electronics are going wacky for no reason)

So when i do put in reverse it will sometimes move normally , other times it just keeps going up and out until it starts skipping/clicking. Sometimes when driving i'll look over and it's in some random spot. i just went out to do some shopping and had to re-adjust it like 3 times
SOLUTION is a 2second fix!
My daughter's right side mirror would not return to the memory position. It would point at the sky every time you unlocked the doors and got in the car. Both memory 1 and 2. I started looking for a way to cut the wire or pull a fuse to keep it in the same position all the time. Then I pulled out the trusty MANUAL!
If you hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the remote fob for 2 seconds it turns off the memory feature from the remote little light flashes on the remote. It still works from the door controls. So since she is the only driver, once she sets the seat and mirrors, she doesn't need it moving every time she unlocks the door. I have her car this week to get new tires. It was driving me crazy to get in move the seat, move the mirrors so I could drive. Now they stay where I put them. Seat memory is a great feature when 2 people share a car but not if the right side mirror is going to point at the sky every time you unlock the door!
