Replacing CD changer with 3D printed storage pocket.

Has anyone replaced the CD changer in non-tech models with a storage pocket?

I'm thinking about removing it (Since I don't plan to ever use it, plus I think it's broken anyway) and 3D printing a storage pocket that can house the aux cord plug. I find it very annoying that there is no easy place to put my phone while driving. It's usually sitting in the passenger seat.

I have checked out the steps to remove it, and it's very straightforward but I am unsure if the center console "brains" will get mad that it's unplugged/missing.

If it can be done and no 3D-printed models of a pocket exist, I would be happy to design it and provide the file to anyone who wants to print there own. Or even print them and give them away.

If anyone can shed some light on that question, I would greatly appreciate it.
