Replace Navigation System
The problem is that I cannot use my navigation system at all, as I am living in Europe (Romania); the car is a '08 RDX with Tech Pack
What I need is to replace the standard system with another one that supports Europe maps. With my little knowledge about these systems I can guess that the entire system is composed of 2 primary pieces: 1) the screen 2) the system itself, that reads the DVD and send the info to the screen A) Is it possible to replace only no2 and get something that reads EU maps and also communicates with standard screen? For this I would need the system(no2) manufacturer and maybe even model; having this information I could search for compatible modules. B) How difficult is it to replace both pieces of the system and what standard functions would one loose? I am thinking here about voice control, bluetooth and maybe others.. sorry for my English, not my native language :) |

In the factory navigation system, no changes are recommended. Within minutes you can do so:
please provide me with some more details: 1) what is the new device and how is it linked to Acura Tech systems 2) what maps are being used by the GPS software (iGo, TomTom, Garmin..) 3) does the new GPS software use the car GPS antenna? thanks a lot, my problem seems solvable now :wish: |

You will spend time for reading of this message, than for installation more. We search and it is found DVD Navigation Unit. It is disconnected 3 sockets 8, 20, 14 pin: https://acurazine.com/forums/picture...ictureid=32803 Set the transition connectors (cross): https://acurazine.com/forums/picture...ictureid=32804 Install GA-Net + and Audio Adapter: https://acurazine.com/forums/picture...ictureid=32805 Cables VGA-RGB HV, Audio, USB, ON-Lan (or ON-USB, or Power ON) lay in the glove box and connect to PC. https://acurazine.com/forums/picture...ictureid=32807 That's it.

In this case no costs for converter and achieves much better image quality. In addition, rescues special frontend for applications. For example it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DyIQ...eature=related

Acura: - Not compatible in vehicles equipped with Rear Seat Entertainment - Acura vehicles equipped with XM Nav-Traffic are not compatible GA-Net+ is compatible with all AUX adapters for RDX |
Hey there everyone, you'll have to excuse me if I'm repeating something that has already been posted elsewhere but I could not find it. Here is my situation:
I bought my mom a 2009 Acura RDX non-tech package but she wants the factory navigation in the vehicle. I told her there were probably other ways to go but she's all about factory. So here is my theory. In order for this to happen, I would have to replace: - 6 disc changer (because of the DVD and control differences) - Climate Radio Navigation Control bezel (did I spell that right?) - Have to add the DVD navigation drive - Install the GPS antenna? (unless it's already included in the base model for the XM) - Replacement navigation display to accompany the new bezel. - And possibly a replacement harness for the Technology Package because the non-tech package harness might not be the same. So basically this is what I am trying to accomplish. If someone has some insight on this, I would be more than appreciative. If I'm missing something, need to add or remove something, etc, please help me make this job go a lot easier (if it's possible). Thank you all!!!! |
