Can someone tell me if RDX FM radio can be enable for RDS so that I can view which song is playing on the radio? i just had a loaner TSX and saw RDS is enabled. i cannot figure out how to do it for my RDX.

 

What year do you have? The 2010 has RDS for the radio but the earlier versions do not. As for how you can get it on the earlier versions I'm not sure.

 

Don't know why do you say that 2010 RDX has AM/FM RDS.
Just got a new 2010 RDX Tech Package and it doesn't seem to support RDS at all. In fact, it doesn't read names/titles from any CD I tried so far (but this has nothing to do with RDS).

Initially, I thought is should be activated or something like it, but they couldn't do it at the dealership and eventually told me it isn't available.

disappointing. My 10 years old Audi A6 already had it. Not a new technology...

As for the CD I have no problems with reading titles or with my iPod. Is it just on the display by the windshield or the Nav screen as well. The "display" button toggles through various views on the display by the windshield. I never use CDs anymore as I have a iPod kit installed.

Want to add a few comments:

- if one goes to the Acura website (see the link below), it actually claims "AM/FM with RDS readout" for 2010 RDX: link

- Also, Edmunds mentions it as well: link (search for "radio data system ") at the bottom of the page.

So, I don't get it. According to the above materials, RDS capabilities should be present on 2010 Acura RDX.
I just don't see it.

 

Could it be that the stations you're listening too are not sending that type of data over the airwaves? I'm not sure how it works, nor do I doubt that radio stations aren't providing that data, but that could be a reason.

 

The dealer I've bought my 2010 RDX from just confirmed that there is NO "RDS" on 2010 models but this feature is available starting 2011 models.

They also believe that Edmunds.com made a mistake when claiming that 2010 RDX has "radio data system"

Anybody actually got the RDS to display FM song titles in a 2010/2011 model? I have a 2011 Tech but havent been able to get this working...

 

Check with the dealer and please let us know if you succeed. It is advertised as a feature offered for 2011 RDX models.

 

So 2011 Models still do not have the RDS feature? Anyone have updates to this?

 

Fail. My 6 year old Volvo also had RDS already.

 

Well today I finally called Acura's Customer Client relations to inquire about the RDX RDS option for the AM/FM radio. I got a response from the representative I spoke with which confirmed that this model never had it from 2007 to 2011. This was odd because I noticed in every other model of the Acura lineup does offer this feature with the 2011 models having a "Title" button on the center console (not on the RDX of course). She wasn't able to give me any details in regards to why this wasn't offered in the RDX. She also confirmed that the Acura website had a typo under the features which indicated that the RDS readout for FM/AM was available.

Hope this helps everybody that was looking into this feature. I pretty much knew it wasn't available but just wanted confirmation from Acura.
