I have been lurking here since i got my 07 RDX around christmas 2010. I just got the K&N short ram, which sounds like angels singing, and my radio won't accept my code. I used the code that came in my user book thing and it keeps saying code error 1 then code error 2. Any idea whats up? Could i be using the wrong code? I am not using the navi code either, not that stupid.

3 times you will lock the radio.
Code should be on card 5 numbers. or take the radio out call dealer give S/N .
Or you can private massage me with S/N I can give you the code.
I have account with acura dealer.

 

I am using the 5 digit code. I unhooked the battery and tried again and got the same error. Is there a way to tell if the radio has been replaced?

 

According to the Service Manual you get 10 tries to enter the code (code error 1,2, etc), then it locks you out. After the 10th try, you can reset 10 more tries by removing/re-inserting fuse #23 (10 A) in the underhood fuse/relay box. This will also likely require you to enter the Nav code as well, but will at least keep you going if you wear out your 10 welcomes.

2007s did have some radio trouble, so maybe yours was replaced. The radio is only held by 4 little bolts, but you have to pull the shifter trim, center console (snaps) and audio pocket (snaps and screws) to access it.

 

I went to my local dealer and they tried everything and said they want 125 bucks to pull the radio out and get the serial number and get the code for it cause they think its changed. How can i avoid this? I argued with the manager for like 10 minutes and he acted like he was doing me a favor.

 

If anyone know of any instructions on how to get the radio out that would be cool. I don't have a problem doing it, i just don't want to try to figure it out and get stuck with half the interior apart.

Select Knob instructions. and pull up 2 silver side Molding from the back. PRNDS Molding up.
watch wire for bulb in the Molding and twist the twist socket out. from the console pull up the panel whole thing shoud come up. screws radio should come right out.

Ok i was able to make sense of what you said after digging into the diy forum. I have the center console off and the knob and all that stuff. I found 3 bolts and a small screw on each side of the radio. I took them all off and the radio moves, but won't come out. What do i need to do now to get it out and see the serial number? Please help i don't want to put the car back together so i am gonna drive around with it in pieces so the sooner the better. I would post a pic but it only lets me link to a pic and not upload one.

I am sorry to keep blowing up this thread, but i finally got the radio out. I didn't take off the big piece that has the cup holders built into it. My radio is a different one that stock, so i guess it has been replaced. I don't know why acura couldn't see this though. I will PM you littleblazer with the serial number and if you can give me the code that would be super.

Fly, can you elaborate on this? Do you mean that its not the original radio and was changed for another one by a previous owner?

 

It is an oem Acura radio, but not the one that came factory installed. As far as i know it is a factory replacement RDX 6 disc changer radio.

Okay so my dad just change his acura 08 rdx battery and the when i tried turning on the radio it said code error e or something like that.
How do we reset it so we can use the radio???

I tried everything lastly being the remove the antenna solution and it still didn't work. I've been to two dealerships and the both gave me the same codes for the serial on the unit which I verified by removing. Is there a procedure in re-inputting the code? Ive pulled the backup fuse several times. does the car need to be started? in park? AC turned on..(jk). PLEASE HELP its been weeks

 

Try this sequence:

-turn ignition key (don't START)
-press buttons "1" & "6" simoultaneously
-turn radio on (s/n will display)
-input code

worked for me.

 

Does the antenna still need to be unplugged? also my code starts with 2 so as soon as i do your procedure and press 2 the radio comes up then turns off in about 2min.

This is nuts!! I unplugged the antenna and drove to an underground building and it still didn't take the code. Any other ideas?

If anybody can help??? Just got a 2nd hand 04 TSX the radio was locked. Used the code from the previous owner and it didn't work. Follow some of your suggestion and found out the S/N was different from the one on the Anti-theft card. Guess the code was wrong then (not corresponding to the radio)?

 

I'm new to this forum and found my way here by googling 2007 RDX radio code error 2. These threads where very helpful. Here's a summary of my issue (maybe it will help someone).
1) My wife came home today and said she has a "code error 2" on here display and the radio will not work.
2) She stated she was never asked to enter a code prior to the error.
3)from this forum I did covered if I pull fuse #23 it will kill the power to the radio and wipe this error code. The fuse is a 10 amp fuse. The underside of the fuse cover has a map to the fuse numbers.
4) check radio with fuse pulled and it was dead.
5) plugged fuse in turned on car and was asked to enter my radio code
6) My code was located on a stickier inside the glove box. We purchased this car new and the radio had issues early and replaced under warranty. Thankfully the dealer put new radio code sticker in the car after they replaced it.

My mdx radio sn is 23008972 the acura dealer is saying its a civic code. I can't enter a civic code because My display doesn't have a 7....please help

Hey Littleblazer, if you are still active please help. I have an Acura RDX 2007 and my radio isnt working. mi tried the number that came with the manual, but didnt work. The serial number that popped up in the radio is 30012727, i was hoping you could please do this stranger a favor and retriev the code please. Thank you.
