I am not getting any audio/sound from my RDX Tech - 7,000 miles. The audio channel selectors work fine, the display shows changing volume levels, but no sound from the speakers, including no beep when clicking the hands-free toggle switch. Also, the phone icon appears continuously beside the clock display.

I checked the two radio fuses and they are fine. Any ideas on what could be muting the speakers?

Sounds more like the Hands Free Link is stuck on.

You say you have the Phone Icon showing. This indicates the HFL sees a Bluetooth phone nearby. Turn off your phone and if the indicator does not go away, it is stuck. Time to take it in for service.

 

The phone icon is supposed to show all the time if the phone is nearby. Doesn't mean anything is wrong. If it is stuck in hands free mode, the MID would show the phone info (battery level, signal strength).

If it is convenient for you, I'd take it to the dealer regardless, just so that they can see the problem first hand. It means much more to them if they can witness the problem than if you just tell them that it happens.

 

Today I noticed the phone icon is off. My wife took it to the dealer, they spent about 30 minutes to no avail and ordered a new radio unit. Do you know if the amp in the radio unit, or separate?
