Navigation not finding areas around me

I try to search Costco or Albertsons but it is not coming up anything at all. It shows the nearest Costco to me is 1500 miles away when there is one about 3 miles away from me. Is it because the car was originally in Nevada and now in Southern California? Should I take it to the dealership or is this a common thing?

How are you searching for these places? If you can provide step by step details that'll help. There are a variety of ways you can search for locations and the GPS can be a little fickle about it. I find that searching by "place" then by "keyword" is one of the best ways to find everything. Have you also tried the HFL and just say "Find Costco" and see what comes up?

Having a TSX and RDX with Navi, I've given up on trying to search for specific places like Wal-Mart or Costco. I use the sort by distance to travel feature once I select a category and then scroll the list for the store or restaurant I'm looking for. I haven’t found (or it does not exist) a button to set the search from your current location.

Nav is great if you are trying to find city hall or a post office, but limited in its ability to find nearby restaurants and the like. I always carry my BlackBerry for those searches.
