Hey folks,

Is there a way to program the Nav so it ALWAYS avoids certain streets? There's a highway here in Toronto that the system always suggests but it doesn't realize you have to pay to use it.

 

I think if you change the routing method from Direct Route to Freeways, it might help.

Yeah but I don't want to totally avoid highways. It's just that particular one (the 407 that mau108 is talking about). It's a relatively new highway that uses an electronic payment method (as opposed to tolls) so I'm assuming Acura didn't account for that and programmed it in as any other highway.

It's annoying because I go up to Richmond Hill all the time and it ALWAYS tells me to take the 407. Once I get rid of that option manually it's fine...but I don't want to have to do this every time.

 

Most GPS systems I've used on my pocketpc (pre rdx) there was always an option to avoid Toll Roads. I haven't really fumbled with the settings but im pretty sure acura should have that in there. If not it should be something voiced to them.

in the 07 US navigation manual it is page 96.

You can program up to 5 areas to avoid.

how is this done in the Avoid area section...my friends kia has tick select option but Acura doesnt have that one....

So does one have to enter manually e.g

1) Highways
2) toll roads
3) ETR

Like these ....help needed
