MP3 CD's
MP3 CD's
Hi,
I have been playing around with MP3 CD's - with great success...but I have a question.
When displaying the "CD Menu" (I have the tech package) the RDX displays the first MP3 file as the title of the CD. I know I can create a dummy MP3 file and place it on the root of the CD but does anyone have a better work around for getting the RDX to display the name of the CD a different name? I would like the CD to display the name of the first folder on the CD.
Thanks!

I tried that...it doesn't work.
Here is what works best:
Create Folders with the Artists Name
Inside of those folders create folders with the Albums name
On the root of the CD create a "fake" file with the name of the what you want the CD to be
It works great. The "fake" MP3 file is never played but the RDX will read it.

interesting... how do u create a fake file... cuz the folders are listed alphabetically... and it takes the name of the first song on the first folder...or if u have ALL folders on the cd and one song, then that song is the title and is played first... would u mind emailing me the fake mp3 file?

All you have to do to create a fake MP3 file is:
- Create a .txt file without any text (in other words - completely blank)
- Name the file whatever you want the RDX to see as the name of the CD
- Change the .txt to .mp3
It's that simple.
The root of my CD looks like this:
Beatles (a folder)
Bright Eyes (a folder)
Cars (a folder)
Cowboy Junkies (a folder)
Beatles to Cowboy Junkies.mp3 (the fake file)
Hope this helps,
