Ipod connector for 2008 RDX

I tried reading through the posts but don't think I understand enough about the different options to truly know what I shoudl be looking for.

I would like to find some way to connect my ipod. When i just use a cord into the headphone jack, the sound is horrible!!

What are my other options? (I have a Gen 5 Ipod classic)....would i be dreaming to think there is an option that would allow me to use my radio controls and see the songs on my nav screen?

thanks!

Steph

Steph - Go into the Audio,Bluetooth section and there are a ton of posts about this - https://acurazine.com/forums/dating-relationships-14/ Acura has their own product but I've heard that kind of sucks. There's also another product called Neo which is suppose to be quite good - http://www.neocaraudio.com/advanced_...icle_year=2008

If you want to display ipod info on your nav screen, then you can go with the Dice product, and I think Neo also has a product. I think you lose XM radio if you have the ipod info displayed.

showing text on the nav screen -
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...ayphotohosting

requires disconnection of XM radio (and traffic).
Instructions to install https://www.hondacuraworld.com/Merch...xmusiclink.pdf

the problem is - the serial interface is quite slow, so the responsiveness of it is slower that one would expect, as it takes time to retrieve all the text via serial.

I bought myself this cable and it works great for me.

Steph, turn the VOLUME down on your ipod. I'm betting that you are going straight from the Headphone jack on the iphone to the input jack on the radio. The input jack expects a much lower line level then what you probably use for your headphones. So just turn down the volume (on the ipod) and you will get instant improvement.

Alternatively go buy a vehicle power adapter for the ipod that has line level out, like the belkin http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...nplm=TN015LL/A

you want an adapter with a line out plug. I have an older Belkin unit that I originally bought for the FM transmitter, but all I use now is the line out.

It was hard to find, but CTG makes a cable with an Ipod compatible connection on one end, and a 3.5 mm male connector on the other, with a four foot cable. Sound is much better. Still can't charge the ipod though - oh well. Try looking for "ctg 35508" online to find a distributor. For whatever reason, I could not find this at any major retailer. It is only about $15.

I have a Belkin device for my Ipod which plugs into the iPod's dock connecter and on the other end the car's power adapter. The power adapter also has the 3.5mm jack, so you just need to get a male-to-male cable to run from the adapter to the Aux In. Sound quality is great and my iPod's power is fully maintained the whole time.

Granted, when the headunit controls the iPod, it's easier, but this works well enough. I just keep it all in the center console and just have that one 3.5mm wire running from inside there to the Aux In jack.
