How do I start the factory stereo test mode?

How do I start the factory stereo test mode?
I came across a reference to the audio system having a diagnostic/test mode but I haven't been able to find out how to start it. Anyone know? FWIW I've got an 07 Tech.

FWIW, my FSM says this:
1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I) or ON (II)
2. Push and hold the "No. 1" and "No. 6" buttons. While holding the buttons, push the "PWR" knob to ON. Release the buttons and the self-diagnostic function will begin.
I got the service manual online somewhere; you should be able to find a copy if you look.
