Cingular Media Net

Has anyone successfully paired up this data service to the RDX? I've been trying to set it up using Easy Setup and it wouldn't connect. I have bluetooth on and paired up to the car.

I was able to get confirmation from AcuraLink using Cingular MediaNet but it took 3 or 4 tries with hours between attempts. Hopefully the issue is only with the initialization. If the RDX ever needs to send a message, not sure if it will keep trying or just try once and give up.

It may depend on whether the phone has datalink capability. Not all phones do, and of those that have datalink, not all are compatible with Acura's HFL. Check the HFL site and verify your carrier & phone combination work with data. FYI, the phone model alone does not determine this, the carrier must support it and you have to have data service in your plan.

I was testing a new Moto Q Global at the ATT store today. It pairs and displays the datalink set up but it did not work with the datalink test. I expect it was my SIM card from my RAZR that prevented the datalink test from working. In my RAZR the datalink works fine, but I did not have the data package that supports the Q's data modem.

If anyone has a Moto Q Global, with ATT, I would be curious if the Acuralink was successful and the general performance of the smartphone with HFL. It appears to be a very robust set up.
