Bought a new phone - bluetooth recognizes it, but not working

So I bought a new Motorola phone to replace my old one. I swapped the sim cards and everything works great.

I get in the car, the phone syncs to my old phone. But when I call something in the phone book, it won't work. Something to the effect than service is not available.

I tried to sync the phone and it didn't work. I checked status and it recognized it as my phone.

What to do?

The RDX will pair with up to 6 phones. To switch between them speak the command "next phone". I carry two phones (one iPhone another not even a phone by comparison) and my wife carries one. When we are in the RDX together we switch between phones depending on what carrier we want to use, etc.
