Bluetooth Auto Connect - Iphone 4

I have a 2009 Non-tech RDX and just bought an Iphone 4. Its paired and works great when connected via bluetooth but it won't autoconnect with the HandsFreeLink system when I start the car.

I have to manually turn off bluetooth on the Iphone and then back on for it to connect. And yes, bluetooth is set to ON in the Iphone 4 when I get in the car.

Any1 have any ideas?

Have you tried deleting and re-pairing it? Sometimes that clears things up. Are you using iOS 4.1? I'm wondering if Apple's bluetooth 'enhancements' are causing it...

+1 on catnippants post. Just try deleting the profile you have in there and re-pairing the phone. I have no problem with it automatically pairing with my 2008 RDX Tech.

Works just fine for me. Delete and re-pair as the others suggested.

I have a blackberry 8530 curve (verizon) and iPhone 3GS for the wife. I cannot get the blackberry and iphone to pair on the TSX or RDX at the same time; either one or the other. I was having the exact same problem you were having with the iPhone when the Blackberry was paired also. The pair would work for a couple of days and then fail to auto connect. I deleted any old paired phones from the RDX and the iPhone has been working perfectly for almost a year.

- Phone Setup : List <<< This makes the HFL give the recorded names of all paired phones. You need this list because you have to delete each phone by name from this list
- Phone Setup : Delete <<< You will be prompted for the phone name followed by a couple of the obligatory "are you sure" prompts.

I'm on 4.1 on the iPhone 4 and have no problems connecting. Id even edited the profile to remove the a2dp. Now i can listen to the radio with tom-tom on.

You should try deleting profile in the car and phone and setup everything again.

There is for sure on the 11's. Not sure about previous models.

I use the Bluetooth Audio Streaming daily in my new 11'.

So far its working better than in my Pops' MDX. The connection tends to have a lot of static in the MDX with my iPhone 3G.

You can NOT pair both at same time. One or the other.

i'm experiencing this issue on my 06 TL. i replaced my BlackBerry with an iPhone 4. I have to keep turning the Bluetooth off/on with my iPhone to get the HFL to connect to the iPhone. I tried deleting the devices off my HFL and "forget this device" from my iPhone. Problem still exists. Any other suggestions?

??? -- Why do you say this? You DEFINITELY should be able to pair both at the same time. You just can't have them both CONNECTED at the same time. The car should be able to pair with up to 6 phones - and you use the 'next phone' command to connect to a different one.

Posted my question in another forum, but I'm having this problem as well. Can anyone give detail as to how to successfully resolve this problem?

i ended up bringing mine to the dealer to get checked out. the Bluethooth device is dead. after reading several other threads on here about the same issue, it appears to be a common problem with them. I've been looking online for a replacement part, as i'm not spending the $755 for a new one at the dealer.

Weird. My Blackberry worked like a charm. And when the phone does sync up with HFL, it works fine. It just does not auto-connect the way my BB did.

2008 RDX Handsfree Link with iPhone4 (Verizon)

For those of you that have been successful with the iPhone and 2008 RDX, was that a VERIZON iPhone or AT&T? Because mine won't pair at all and I just got it!

On Acura HFL website, the iPhone isn't even an option for Verizon.

@ catnippants - you cannot pair both phones at the same, you can pair more than one phone on the HFL system, and you are correct you cannot have both linked up at the same time. HFL allows 6 paired devices as you stated.

Geez. Ok, you got me. You can't go through the 'pairing process' for two phones at exactly the same time. Although I guess you could read my post to say that, we are really both saying the same thing. As long as you take each phone through the pairing process one at a time, they can both remain paired at the same time - just not connected, linked, active, whatever at the same time.

BTW, I've been using an AT&T iPhone with the HFL for a few years now. It has worked flawlessly. I even added one of these - http://store.apple.com/us/product/H2...co=MTY3ODQ5OTY, essentially adding BT audio to my '07. The phone automatically connects to it and the HFL at the same time so I can use either.

Say what you want about the iPhone - but it just works. I like my PCs complicated...I like my phones to just work, and to work well. Android maybe be more flexible and configurable, but it has its issues. The iPhone just works....every time.

I now keep my blackberry paired to my car only and the wife's iPhone paired to her RDX only. So far, we haven't had any problems at all with one phone only for each vehicle. It is just a pain when we switch cars and we get a call.

Lucky for me my blackberry is a work phone and I don't use it in the evenings or weekends. The Acura system still should be smart enough to pair both phones and allow you to use one at a time without having a brain fart.
