Best circuit to add an additional light?
Best circuit to add an additional light?
Greetings fellow RDXers... who here has experience patching aftermarket lights into the car's electrical system?
I have a boost gauge mounted on my dash, and for the longest time I've been trying to get its backlight working. It's just a simple incandescent bulb - probably a couple watts if I had to guess.
I originally tried running it in parallel to the lights in the VSA and power mirror switch, but doing so causes random VSA codes. This is circuit # 14 from the under-dash fuse & relay box.
I chose this circuit so the light would be tied to the headlights and dash brightness - and this part works, but having the light patched this way consistently causes the VSA codes. As soon as I unplug the light and clear the codes, all is back to normal.
I'm thinking of trying either circuit #s 15 or 19 next, via a piggyback fuse adapter. But if anyone has a better ideal, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.
