X3 to 07 RDX

As I have seen a couple of post's talking about the X3 vs the RDx. I just traded my 05 (actually wifes) X3 for a new RDX with tech and DVD player. In my opinion, the RDX is far superior in so many way's, but specifically on the inside. Those of you who have the RDX know what I am talking about so I don't think I need to get into to may details. Superior Nav with back up camera is a huge one for us. Even the 07 X3 doesn't have back up and it's nav really isn't in the game. Feels more powerful then the X3 at least once the short turbo lag is over. Has a better design then the X3 but of course that is in the mind of the beholder.

The "one up" for the X3 is the "tracking" or the actuall driving experiance. The RDX doesn't have the same feel as the X3 does as your driving down the road, but that is a bimmer thing that I have never experianced in any other call.

Anyway, we have only had the RDX for a few day's, so we are looking forward to taking it on a trip soon Will follow up after the trip I hope everyone enjoy's this car Thanks

RDX all the way. Less hassle when it comes to maintenance. Reliability is expected to be high as with any Honda product. BMW has a history of electrical problems.

Actually DV, we never had a problem with either of the two BMW's we drove, 3 series and X3 I guess we just had some good luck

The dvd player I am talking about, is the one that mounts on the ceiling for the rear passengers to watch We have a 15 month old and another on the way, so it is a must!

Hey congrats man! I totally agree with regards to the interior. The pre-2007 X3s feel pretty utilitarian (1 center cup holder and barely any storage for cell phone, CDs, etc.) while the RDX is super comfortable and inviting.

I'm with you guys but I can't help but wonder if we are giving up something. I wonder if this is the reason kids today lack imagination. They don't use it anymore becasue they can now spend there time watching TV/DVDs. This is just my observation.

I didn't know that the I-VES was an option for the RDX. Did you buy from Gunn? I am from SA and I bought my first Acura from there.

Yes B-Man, I did buy from Gunn. Actually it is my 4th Acura purchased from them. I have always had a good experiance there which is good since they are the only Acura dealer in town Yes, the rear DVD is an option they offer. I have to wait a week to get it installed, but I have seen one in another RDX and it looked pretty good to me I have a 06 Pathfinder that I drive with a DVD player, and the actual player is in the center console which I really like as it is easier to get to especially while driving.

Actually, with that "HUGE" & "DEEP" center console in the RDX, they could have easily put a DVD player in there. I know my wife, and that is going to turn into the "trash" bin for the car. LOL

Thanks RDX-O It feels like it will be a better car for comfort over the x3 And, oh WOW, does that thing move when you get on it. The only problem I am going to have in the future, is sneaking it out of the garage before my wife get's to it!!

Oh, and by the way, I paid 35,500 for my 07 RDX Not sure if that is good or bad? I bought the model with the tech package. I did have to pay extra for the mirror and the DVD player though. How does that compare to what you all have paid?

Correct me if I'm wrong AcuraJim, but I don't think the DVD player he is referring to is an Acura product, just a 3rd party that the Acura dealer is installing for him.

I'm betting the 08 model will offer IVES option just purely based on the fact that the 08 TSX will offer it.

It may not be an Acura product, but the folks at the dealership are doing the install, along with the Ipod kit and mirror. They told me that I will have to tune to a certain FM frequency to hear sounds unless the head phones are used. It will work fine for what we need For those of you that don't have one installed, I will give an update of how well it works once it is installed Thanks
