Is anyone else here worried about the theft rate of the RDX? its using a reinforced K series Block.. the K series block is the newest to do engine swap into older EF and EG civics plus since is a factory turbo block the bottom end will be stronger which they'll want and its also probably and standard exhaust manifold bolt pattern so they can easily throw a bigger turbo on it..

Just seems like it'll be a highly targeted car to stolen and stripped of the engine.. granted i can't let that persuade me from buying one but its definetly a factor as i don't want to have to worry about where i parked it and where i bring it.. Movie theaters, shopping malls etc...

Anyone have any thoughts on this? maybe its also due to the area i'm in, NYC

maybe its more the area you are in and also your name but you have good points that could play into a higher theft rate. But only time will tell. The car will probably get jacked for many of its other gadgets and parts inside the car as well...the shawd setup will be attractive as well id imagine.

location definetly plays a large part in it.. i know i'm more prone in my area. i just was wondering if anyone else here had given it thought and had any opinions.. but like i said its probably not going to be a determining factor in my purchasing decision which as of right now is the fact that the dealers won't budge at all on price...

I remember when I had my 02 TL-S I was always worried when I had to overnight in NJ for work, because the headlights were being targeted pretty heavily down there. YIKES!

you're right ,the K23A1 has been the hot topic on the tuner forums.

you probably saw the tuning magazine that did the 6 page article this summer on doing the RDX engine swap

I was also worried about the attractiveness of this engine on the black market. So it was not hard for the dealer to talk me into installing LoJack. The question is whether this will really help?
