X3, RX350, and FJ Cruiser. Drove all 3 but felt the RDX provided the best mix of value and performance

If I was to do it over again, I'd have probably gone with the Santa Fe.

Btw, I was behind an FJ Cruiser on my way home from work, that thing is really ugly sorry to say.

The Acura RDX, Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-7, and the rumored new Infiniti EX/CX are on my list. The floater choices are the BMW X-3 or the Infiniti G35 sedan. The RDX was my ideal choice, but I'm still relunctant on the turbo 4 and I have test driven it. If the new Infiniti has all the tech from the G35, has a nice 6 cyl engine, and doesn't look ugly, that will be my choice.

Drove Rav4 several times, Rx330, Cx-7, 4runner, CR-V, and Pilot. RDX interior sold me.
Every time I drove the Rav, the interior just felt cheap. RX330 was nice, but boring. 4runner limited was nice, but too close to my truck.
Didn't care for the CR-V acceleration on highway and it idled rough. Pilot kind of similar to the 4runner. Nice, but eh.
RDX got in my head, now its in the garage..

Had considered:
Toyota RAV4
BMW X3
Honda CRV
2007 Mitsubishi Outlander
Nissan Murano
Mazda CX-7
Subaru Tribeca
It came down to the main three: RAV4, CRV and RDX. Consideration was mainly given to reliability and overall value during initial selection.
Finally chose the RDX, nifty turbocharged engine, great handling, cool AWD system, and an awesome looking interior.
The NAV/rearview camera sold it for my son, who was in awe of the tech package.

X3 - it was too ugly, too much money and too many issues
CX-7 - FordZa. Thanks anyway. The resale value will be horrendous.
XJ - too 'trucky'
RX350 - too fem
Wife drives an MDX and wants my car. Would it be weird for a family to have two of them?
