Cool Well, here i go again!

Well, it's now # 3 RDX. I know I haven't posted for awhile, but I still come here & read from you all from time to time. I just decided that with the changing of the RDX in the 2013 model year, I'd go look at what they had at my local Acura dealer one day & see what was avail. in the 2012 model year!
See, I like the looks & ride of the 2013, but I just love the turbo, SH-AWD, the cornering, etc. Say what you want, but I LOVe the RDX the way it is. So, if I could get a 2012 for a good price, get a good trade-in price, I'd get a 2012and have what I want for a long time. I know some of you are going to say, "why didn't you just keep the '08". Well, I just decided to get the latest, if it fit our budget. Well, seems I had about $3,400. in equity, so that helped a lot! The had a BUEATIFUL Basque Red pearl one in a whole line of "certified used" ones. (Found out they we're some service loaners, manager's demos & the one I liked was the lowest mileage & best price!) Worked a pretty good deal, I think. Talked them down 1K on the new RDX price & got them almost up to what I wanted on my '08 trade-in, $22250. I also got them to "throw in the total cert. cost, & the extended 7yr / 100k included" ! Then I got the full set of all weather, mats / tray front, rear & cargo, for free & wheel locks. (This RDX maybe a "used" listed vehicle, but it's like BRAND new shape!!!)
I absolutely LOVE this dark red color. Very sexy & sharp. Will get Zaino'ed, frt. windows tinted & all clear bra put on / in ASAP! Iknow, I know.. I'll get pics posted soon. Oh, & I got a loan at 2.90 %! Not bad, not great, but I'm happy!! (Keeps the payment in line for the budget!) So, does this mean I have to sign in AGAIN for the 3rd time!

I hear ya brother!!

I'm having a hard time giving up the turbo+hondata+sh-awd+Eibach springs+Moroccan pearl red. I like the 2013 updated tech, power lift gate, keyless entry/start+6AT, and especially the enhanced mpgs. Those 2013 upgrades are not enough to make me jump ship just yet.

I'm still holding out hope a "sporty" version of the RDX will be out in 2014/2015.

Wait!!!

They gave you $22,250 for your 08?

I wonder what I could get for my wifes 10 RDX with the tech package at 18,000 miles.

Well, you'll have to go see. Mine only had 25575 on it & I keep my vehicles in great condition, but they always have normal wear & tear. Sometimes you get a good surprise!

hmmm I'm tempted to do the same now. I was never a big fan of the "Beak" but you got me thinking about this now. The added power seat on the passenger side will definitely make the wife happy.

Congrats, and it sounds like you worked out a pretty good deal for yourself.

Don't you find it kind of funny that the most boring crossover (Lexus RX) just came up with a "sporty" version of it, while Acura, that had a sporty one (albeit no softer option) went the dull way....I think that we'll see a hybrid before we see a sport version of the RDX.

You mentioned you talked them down $1k, what was the original price?

I'm new here but thought I would chime in since your experience is almost exactly like mine without the trade in. They had 2 really low mileage used 2012's which were loaner cars (around 3200 miles). Basically brand new shape like you said. They also threw in the all weather package/wheel locks etc and free oil changes for life. No technology package but AWD and got it down to $29k and since it was certified basically a 4 1/2 year warranty.

Pretty. Congrats on the good deal. I'm keeping my '07 until it's paid off and will keep it until it dies. I like it, but I don't love it.

I *love* my '85 Mercedes 300CD-T. Especially considering it gets better mileage than either the Acura or the '05 Accord I inherited back in January. It'll still be running like a top when both of the ricers have given up the ghost. And I can work on it myself.

What's up with the little warranties I see, by the way? Dealers down here tend to offer a lifetime warranty on the drivetrain anyway - past the factory warranty.

I know. It was WAY different than in '08 when I bought the last one! If a car is over 250 miles, (Colorado law??) it has to sold as used, or can be sold as certified if you want to pay the difference & have FULL warrranty for your car. I got them to include that. Then at closing, they wanted to sell me the EXTENDED warranty to 7 yr. / 100K. I got them to include that too! So I have warranty for bumper to bumper for the 7 yr. /100 k! Not bad. (As long as I didn't have to pay out of pocket for it!

Guys, One more thing I didn't say. I think TIMING is everything! They had several '12s & they want to MOVE them! The '13's are already there & they know it's going to get harder & harder to move the '12's as the year goes on!!
