What does this do exactly compared to the OEM version? Do you get extra hp? Is the car louder?

For a FI car, I almost think its useless since all these so called cold air intake is actually a sucking all the hot air in the engine bay. Does it have a heatshield that you took out for the pic?

I've talked to several tuners and they mention in the fender CAI's really don't make a difference. The extra length of hose "suction loss" negates the cold air. By the time air gets in, gets compressed and intercooled, the temp difference is negligable. Their words,. not mine.

My K&N drop in w/ silencer/snorkel removal makes some cool noises. If I cared about modding, I would have a CP-E myself.
