Volkswagen competitor named "Tiguan"
Saw this on The Car Connection, the name was chosen by readers of AutoBild magazine in Germany. Here's hoping the US version will be called the "Tiger" instead or maybe the 'Tigger'.
Appears similar in size to the RDX but the Audi version may be a more appropriate competitor. Front, Side and Interior shots are posted.

The car looks just like the RDX. Acura was smart to get in on the small premium S/CUV segment before the flood gates open. Infinity, Volvo, Land Rover, etc are rumored to have such vehicles in the works and now VW/Audi

it was smart for them to get into the CUV segment, but let's hope they didn't make a big boo-boo by being the only one not to offer anything larger than a 4-cylinder when all the other competitors arrive.
the turbo'd-4 may be adequate, but Acura needs to get away from that "just adequate" mentality.

I will not be surprised if the 2 generation RDX comes with a V6. The first landRover came with a 2.5 V6 that put out a measly 174-hp. It was under powered and did not do very well. They are now coming out with the LR2 which will address all the shortcomings of the Freelander.
I sincerely hope the RDX suceeds and live to see a 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen. COntent wise, RDX sounds good. If the driving dynamics and looks are above average, I will definately get one for the Mrs.

Besides the incumbant BMW X3, Acura seems to be surprisingly early into this segment. Vw and Audi don't expect their product to hit US before 2008 as a 2009 model. Land Rover LR2 should be a 2007 model introduced this fall. Not sure about the Infiniti CX25/35 and Lexus hasn't even suggested a Lexus version of the Rav4 even though many enthusiasts have talked it up.

I'm surprised the RDX is so 'new' or a new segment. Seems like there have been a ton of small SUVs out for years now, how come it is so hard to just load one up with more features etc. I don't see the big stretch to build another small SUV, even if it has features and content unavailable before. I guess I'm missing something.
