Used RDX reliability
Hey guys.
So I'm interested in getting a used RDX. I'm eying a 2007 RDX Tech with 29,190 mi. for $26,995. The reason why I ask is that this RDX I'm looking at is located in Milwaukee. I've never seen what snowy winters do to cars, so I'm asking for your opinions. How is the reliability, fit and finish of your snow driven RDXes? And most importantly, do you think its a good deal?
Thanks,
- Felix

Price sounds high to me too. However, I live at the top of New England, and other than going through a set of tires in 30K, my RDX has held up WONDERFULLY. It still looks, feels and drives like a new car...and I only wash it a couple of times per year.

Add another PRICE TOO HIGH comment.
I got a NEW 09 Tech for 31500. I wouldn't pay a penny over 24,000 for a used 07. It just isn't worth it considering what new 09's are going for and the added features of the 09 over the 07!

on top of which, you buy an 07 now, technically, its 4 years old with the 2010 coming, either wait for the 10 to come out and get a leftover 09 new or get a used 08, or even a used 09.

Wait until the 2010 comes out, prices should drop even lower....and no, that asking price is NOT good...kind of high...

$ 27k is a little high .... but it's supply vs. demand. There are not too many 2007 RDX's for sale at the present moment. In a few months, supply will increase as the 3 year leases end.
Trade in values are around 22-24k for a 2007 RDX, depending on condition, mileage and option package(s). The dealer would then mark up the RDX by $5,000.

I agree with you all, the price is high. I'm trying to look for a better bargain, but 27k was what was listed on the website. When are the 2010 models coming around?

I was looking at the dealer inventories, and I saw one with a brand new 2007 on the lot. How much would that be worth now? How low of an offer do you guys think I could make without being laughed at?

Edit: Actually, there are brand new 2007 and 2008 with Tech Package. The listed price online for the two cars are still at 37K. How much would that be worth now? How low of an offer do you guys think I could make without being laughed at?

well...of course all the cars will still be listed at their sticker/selling price. You wont find any RDX's with a selling price of 32k; thats where you come in.
id check edmunds.com and look at the true market price/what people are actually buying the car for around your zip code. If it matches the pricing that people have paid/32k, then that can help you in negotiations. If an 09 Tech is selling for about 32k, then theres no way in hell you should expect to pay a similar amount for a "new" '07 or '08. If this dealer is unwilling to move around (it sounds like you havent really negotiated anything yet) then just get pricing from more dealers.

37k is the MSRP of RDX, always try to find out the invoice price and negotiate from there. some of here including me bought their RDX below invoice price. Check Edmunds.com for MSRP and Invoice price.
