USA RDX Tech or Canadian?
Hi:
I am new to the forum. I currently looking to purchase a 2007 or 2008 RDX Tech. I've been looking around for awhile now. I live in Calgary and I've noticed a few USA RDX's for sale (for abit cheaper). Now, all things being equal, I would purchase a local canadian RDX, but what makes the USA import RDX cheaper?
Is it because it lacks a block heater? It uses MPH and Imperial measurements instead of metric? Or are USA RDX's missing a bunch of safety features?
What is the difference between the USA RDX and a Canadian one? And are there things to consider or be cautious about if I choose to buy a USA RDX?
your input is much appreciated.

The vehicles are practically the same, minus the minor differences you just mentioned. The reason the US imports are probably cheaper is becuase you might not be able to retrieve the service history as easily and the fact that it might not be under warranty in Canada due to it being a US model. Just putting some ideas out there...

Thanks for all the info. I appreciate it. I guess warranty may not be too much of an issue as the RDX is a 2007 and is probably either out of warranty or running out of warranty in the next year.
Rain, I can't PM you as I am a new member of this forum. Can you let me know what you found about a US RDX when you bought one? Are the maps different? Is there a way to program the computer to use KM/C instead of miles/F? Thank you.

Pretty much everything is the same. Naturally the spedometer and odometer are both in miles. You can program the GPS to show KM and the voice commands will follow appropriately. Changing between Celcius and Farenheit I'm not sure of. My preference is to Farenheit so I haven't toggled around to try to make that change. As for the maps, they are for the US and for mostly southern Canada. For me, in Toronto, I have had no issues except for travelling north into cottage country. However, I have the 2007 version. I have viewed an MDX with the 2010 version and cottage country has been fully updated. I would suggest to investigate the coverage areas on the navigation website and it will give you a better idea.

Thanks for the details. Glad it its only the speedometer and the temperature guage thats different. I think I can live with that. I also noticed that its quite rare for Canadian RDX's to come in that taupe coloured leather interior. Its almost always black.

Battery?
I loved it so much, i played around with all the toys with the key in the ignition, but the engine off for 45 min.
The next day, the car wouldn't start and I had to get a boost from my other car.
Is that normal? I know the screen probably eats up a lot of power.
And are the batteries for RDX's from the sunbelt any different from RDX's from colder climates? My battery says 440 CCA.
Thanks.
