REQUIRED ENGINE OIL: Oil is a major contributor to your engine’s performance and longevity. Your vehicle is equipped with a high-performance turbocharged engine that requires the use of synthetic motor oil. Always use Mobil 1® 5W-30 or an equivalent oil that meets the HTO-06 standard. Not all synthetic oils will meet this standard. Only use oils that display the HTO-06 standard on the label.

Failure to use Mobil 1® or an equivalent oil that meets the HTO-06 standard can lead to a reduction in engine performance or durability, and can cause engine damage not covered by your warranty.

* May vary with driving conditions. Does not apply to fluid and filter changes or periodic inspections. Please refer to the maintenance section of your owner's manual to determine all appropriate maintenance intervals.

It took a few times clearing the codes, all but one cleared

Left rear wheel speed sensor open or short

Rockauto has them for 8$

I'll check the wire first

This abs sensor plug came out OK and didn't have any green death on the pins. Washed it out with brake kleen and soft set it 10 times. Still no good.

Coat hanger still holding strong

Followed the wiring to the coupler above the rear diff it also didn't have any green pins. I also got the rear diff overheat code. Not sure if it is really overheating, if it's the wire, or if the fluid is burnt. (I've never checked or changed it)

Did you say you never changed your differential fluid...how many miles do you have on the fluid?

My last Yaw Sensor Replaced & Brake/Clutch Switch Adjusted 4/3/13 39,581 $0

My last Differential Fluid Flushed & Washers Changed 5/11/17 116,959 $198

Also where do you live that the bottom of your RDX looks like that...you must get serious snow fall!

And yes I'm in Canada

It's pretty rusty which is just the right amount.

I wonder if I have the roughest one.

Might want to check it out if you’re getting codes just make sure you get the Acura all wheel drive fluid and a hand pump to pump it into the rear differential.

You’ll also need a socket & ratchet set. I recommend a new filler plug bolt/washer and for the drain as well.

Might want to go to the car wash during the salting season and get the underbody rust inhibitor option.

Not the worst but try to nip it in the butt now.

I get gas at Esso here and get points every fill up and bonus points for grade of gas, a regular car wash is 499 points the rust one is 699 points I think, and can get that in 2 or 3 fills, less if it's point specials day or 5x points week. Those days even my lawn tractor gets 93 octane.

Haven't gotten the car in to replace the abs sensor yet but the part came in.

Check engine light is back on I'll scan it later.

But I gotta tell you the awd and Trac control being disabled the front tires sure are easy to spin at any speed below 70kmph

Let me know the outcome and definitely get that under body rust inhibitor option. Yeah it spins the tires because the turbo gives us torque vs n/a Acura motors.

Oh no worries was more of a joke comment
I knew this car would eventually give me some sort of problem, it had to. I bought it because it was the roughest one (cheap) and the highest km one.

I'll be checking the connections on the abs pump looking for green wire terminals maybe tomorrow

Anywhere else you think
Is there an abs computer?

So before the sensor was changed out the dash abs vsa and shawd lights were on non stop and would not turn off at all.

After the replacement of the sensor, every time I start the car no lights are on and once I hit 60kmph or so the 3 come on. Also when I drive parking lot speeds before the lights come back I can hear and feel the abs activating on the brakes even under light braking, until the lights come on. The code does clear now as well but comes back.

Symptom change is good, at least it's something.

You probably have to change the ABS/VSA motor because the ABS/VSA fail safe is kicking in at those speeds

So this is what I needed the rdx for on sunday

I did not sell the rdx and am still going to keep it, I just needed a bigger family mobile.

2005 mdx 275k KMS vsa tpms light on, srs engine and abs codes in system, has a broken front bumper but is in oddly really good shape otherwise, not much rust at all. 2k Canadian $. Seller said rad cracked internally and he rebuilt the trans and put new rad in a year ago. Timing belt done in 2017.

I'll start another thread in the Mdx forum and link here.

My driveway looks like an Acura dealership

Once it's working stably I'd like to hear a compare/contrast of the RDX and MDX.
