Question turbo meter and turbo engage

hi guys, just a quick question about your observations on the turbo meter and turbo engage. essentially just wondering if the turbo meter should always go to the max level whenever it gets engaged? (per my observation in my normal driving, it only goes up to halfway then goes down again most of the time)

a) as i accelerate moderately on a freeway with a slight uphill incline, turbo engages and usually does NOT hit the max "+" sign -- note that i gradually accelerate (not punch it). the turbo meter normally just hits halfway between low and high. (i hit 70-75mph usually but that's it)

b) i rarely see my turbo meter at the max "+" level. how do i do it? do i punch it big time? (eg. from a standing start, accelerate like a mad man like im doing 0-60 in the fastest time possible)

c) how do i get turbo meter at max level on a flat freeway? (i guess this is not possible without going way beyond speed limit and getting caught by the cops?)

as an aside, my mpg is approx 20-22mpg based on 50/50 hwy/city driving... maybe im baby-ing the vehicle too much...

muchos gracias!

I think you are babying it.

I've had mine for a week now and already (accidentally) got the turbo all the way up....but only for a second before I realized it. Haha. I'm trying to be easy on it until it breaks in.

!
While cruising 60 mph, downshift 2x using your paddleshifter then accelerate... you will notice your turbo meter goes up and you will feel the power of your engine...

is the 20-22mpg based on the imperial gallon or are you converting from l/100km to SAE MPG?

converting from liters/100 kms using liters/3.8= gallons and kms/1.6 = miles...

here is how i get mine up all the way before even moving lol. btw i dont have a reflash in this video bone stock and i dont recommend doing this often. it basically hits full boost before 20km/h and shaves off 0.8s from your 0-60 time. the ecu automatically slows the turbo spool at high rpm though which is why you need a reflash but its only good if you wanna drive 100+ km/h imo or smooth out the torque curve a bit.

I've watched this before. I didn't think this was possible with AWD, but there it is. Wonder how the reflash will effect.???

well the reflash doesn't affect the turbo much below 4k RPM it's mostly in higher revs that keeps the turbo spooling.

here you can see how the reflash helps keep the turbo above 12psi compared to stock:

the effects on the horsepower are amazing for just an electronic tune:

I have the reflash. Are you driving in full sport mode? It helps if you stay in gear longer at higher rpms.
