Transmission/AWD failure after collision

A few months ago I slipped on ice and both the front and back wheels on pax side hit a curb. The mechanic found the car out of alignment and replaced the front susp hub assembly, front steering knuckle, suspension control arm assembly. Since then, I've noted vibrations at speed, and the SHAWD light came on for a few moments but then stopped. Yesterday the transmission slipped so bad that the vehicle couldn't move forward. The SHAWD light was also on and stayed on. What are the odds that the accident earlier this year could have caused (at least in part) the problems yesterday? I had no transmission problems at all in the year prior.
TIA.

The alternator died. Apparently all of this might be caused by faulty electrical.
