Tires worn out again-24k this time

M.F. er! My third set of tires are bald as sh** after less than 24k miles. Around 20k for the OEM, 20k for a set of Goodyear Assurance Comforttreads and now these (Yokohamas V4s) are toast. Always rotate myself at 5k. Always re-align every 6 months. Never any indication of any misalignment (goes straight down the highway). WTF. Just spent $480 on fluid changes at the dealer (coolant flush, transmission flush, transfer case and now tires are shot again. By the way I still need to get a leaky seal fixed on the front axle for $250. As you can tell, I'm a little pissed with this car. I actually thought about buying a ZDX (my dealer has 2), but now I may need to run from Acura. 2010 4Runner is looking pretty good right now. Sorry about the rant. Please convince me I'm wrong, Any ideas about why I'm burning through tires? On an up note I saw some great looking dark grey 19" Acura brand rims on a new MDX. Any idea what those would be or if they would fix my tire eater? Thanks for reading.

...what's the treadwear rating on the tires you've been buying?

that's what you need for your tire eater, put some more expensive rubber and 19" rims on it......

I don't know why you are having such a bad experience with tires, I would blame it on your driving, the environment around you, or I would say that the tires are not worn out when you think they are (some people are like that)

I like the 4 runner too, but believe that they are completely different cars when it comes to the drive. If you don't care about how they drive, and perhaps would like some true off-road capability, make the jump!!!!

I have been wanting to trade my RDX for MDX because I want more room, but am afraid that I will be disappointment when I get to drive the MDX

Do you drive like a maniac?I got 47K out of my tires, and they looked OK when they came off the rim. Not anything like bald.Weird that you have had the issue with two sets. This is my third Acura ( 01 CLS , 05 TL ) with the same Michelin family of tires, and they have been just fine as far as longevity goes.
sorry to hear about your problems, must be frustrating when so many here have pretty much had zero issues with this particular model.

well id first give a little deference to burning thru the OEMs because basically in general they are terrible - but the fact that you went thru non-oems the same way leads me to either A- its you, or B - something is very wrong with the car

im going with A - tires just dont burn off in 20k unless there are other things going on, whether you go off roading, or rip the car everywhere you go

but the one thing i will say is that if the non-oem tires were toast that quick, how could u possibly blame it on the RDX lol

Do you live on particularly rough ungroomed roads? 20K on 3 diff sets sounds like operator error. I'm at 30K now with nearly that much to go on my RDX. I had the same tires on my TSX (albeit smaller size) and I got over 50K before I replaced those. When you say worn out... are you down to the wear bars or wearing out the edges. What's your tire pressure? If you're running low pressure, you'll get more grip but pay for it in wear.

See my long post in reply to 18k and to the indicators thread about our 4th set of tires purchased today. My wife and I both drive this car pretty hard up and down the mountains. Over rough, windy roads. I also drive a 1999 VW New Beetle Turbo even harder down these same roads back and forth to work every day. Tires on the VW wear at 1/3 the rate. All the replacement tires have had over 500 treadwear ratings. Goodyears had 700. Do you guys think driven hard under these road conditions that the SH-AWD makes the tire wear situation even worse?
