Tire Tread

How is the tire tread holding up on these cars?

Pretty good I'll say. I do only have 4000 miles on the car but tires are in great shape. Only time will tell...

I have to say though that these tires kick ass. They give u some serious gripping power to make use of that so called SH-Awd

I was just curious because these tires are high performance tires and those kinds of tires generally have pretty poor treadwear...like say....15-20K miles/yr...

It all depends on each persons driving habits. If you take it easy, then I'm sure these tires will last for a long time.

They are performance all-season tires similar to what's on Acura's other models, not really high-performance or summer tires. Based on the treadwear I am seeing at 7000 miles, I think they are going to last a long time, probably 40-50K miles at least. We have similar tires on our TSX and they are looking great at 37K miles.

The Acura RL has similar Michelin Pilot MXM4 all season tires on it, weighs about the same 3900 + pounds, has SH-AWD, but has been on the road since 2005. People are reporting 40K to as much as 63K before changing to new tires.

Mostly 245/50-17 but there could be 245/45-18s on some.

I agree with the comments on treadwear estimates of the Pilot HXMX4. They should last at least 50,000 miles. For me, that would be like 4 years of running those tires.
Actually, if you rotate them every 10,000 miles, and have wheel alignment done once every year, especially after the winter, you can probably extend that to 60K.

I have noticed that rotating tires is a critical component to maintaining the tires in good condition.

Or actually, whatever the MID says...I get an A1 notice, for example.
