Things the salesman didnt show you
reading the post about the rear wiper, I thought it would be nice to list some of the good and bad features of your RDX that you didnt learn at the showroom, but found out by accident or by reading the manual cover to cover. For me they are:
* Trip A can be reset every time you fill up.
* Passenger seat heater only heats the seat bottom
* Tire pressure is a hefty 42 lbs

Thanks for the info.
In the case of the tire pressure, you may be looking at a "maximum inflation pressure", which is intended only for unique handling or rolling resistance requirements. If this was the intended pressure it would be posted in the manual and placarded on the driver door.
While 42 psi is within design limits, it is dangerously high and will result in low traction and poor handling characteristics.
The HX MXM4 (235/55/18) max cold inflation pressure is 44 psi, but it is design load-rated at 35 psi and Acura recommends 32 psi, which should be the pressure placarded on your driver door.

^ thats pretty cool.
I also noticed if I put the wipers on the intermittent setting (the first one) after the 6th or 7th wipe it wipes it it twice (goes up and down quicker then the delay setting)
Wow I can't beleive we can pick up these small things :P Acura thought of the small stuff, but some of the bigger stuff they ignored

I wasn't shown on where the DVD navigation disk insert was located at, but was told that it was hidden on the passenger side. I still have yet to pull out the disk to see it.

Does anyone know how to get the transmission into 5th using the paddle shifters in sport (S) mode? I know it is possible because I did it once, where "M5" showed in the gauge cluster, but my recent attempts to repeat this have been unsuccessful. I can only manage to get it into 4th which appears as "M4". Any tips? Thanks

I still listen to records, you have to flip them over manually when you get to the end

The other thread reminded me of this "feature"....
To have your engine running and the DRLs off, your parking brake has to be set before you start the vehicle. Once the parking brake is released, the DRL's come on.

I wouldn't recommend it, but you could try driving witht the parking brake on a click or 2.
Some guys I know had Tahoes and would go 4 wheeling on Hatteras island at night to surf fish. All the other surf fishermen had their "night eyes" good and dilated and they would HATE any GM owner who came down the beach with their DRL's on. From what I understand, it takes a good 2 hours to get your night vision at it's best and having the headlights coming down the beach was aweful. So these guys would click the parking brake on 1 click to override the drls. Like I say, I wouldnt try it, but you could experiment with 1 click driving. Maybe see how well the car glides. Of course you already hate your mileage and this will probably not help it any!
And another thought on your fuel mileage is you could try pumping up your tires to 37 or so and see if that helps. I know that when we are running the beach, we air down to 12-15 and you can count on getting sub 10mpg in ANYTHING on the beach. So reducing the rolling resistance may help get you an MPG or 2.

How and where did you get an updated DVD. My RDX was a 7/06 build date and the routing is way out of date. Any tricks to install it?

the thing is though, idk about the rdx but my tl beeps excessivly if you start driving with the e-brake on...so you could be overriding your DRLs but it'll annoy the living hell out of you.
