Taking interest in Eibach Rear sway bar
#122
So I will get in touch with "the progress group". very reputable and experienced suspension guys. They will be doing it.
I'll go by and have 'em throw it on a lift, they'll estimate what it will entail and work on a price point for us.
from there full orders and go.
This will be designed around the eibach springs. I'm sure BC's will be fine as well, but not generally recommended for stock springs, as the stock suspension travel would need a different set up.

Wait a sec, arent we talking about Eibach bar? What Progress has to do with them?
I thought this bar will be developed and manufactured by Eibach solely.

side note 1.. eibach springs only lower the vehicle alittle over an inch.. the sway bar in itself will still be within stock compliant i am sure if you are really wanting to stay in that realm
side note 2.. people who are corner carvers and back road drivers are going to want more then just a sway bar to help them thats why most upgrade the stock springs to a stiffer suspension before taking the next step in upgrading the components along with it.
#124
Haha, the stock suspension isn't' soft by no means. But, I'm sure a stiffer and larger sway could help me with my setup. I'm trying to reduce the movement of my rear trailing arm as much as possible (helps with launch). I would go ahead and try to fit in some polyurethane trailing arm bushing, but not sure if they fit.

Ken for some reason i thought you lowered your vehicle.. i would think if you are wanting to help the squat during take off you would want a stiffer ride specially in the rear.
i have a 2010 and IMO i think the stock setup with alittle soft for me.. my tsx i run ksport coils and have the shocks set at 25 in the rear and 20 up front

thats funny.. my tsx is always compared to a mazda speed6 or people cant tell the difference between a TL and a tsx
if you arent looking to drop it too much i would suggest the eibach springs.. most people cant even tell its lowered unless its next to another rdx

it is my understanding that the coil-overs dump your vehicle. They are no where near close to stock, and cannot be adjusted up to stock height.
#132
Yeah, I emailed heeltoe and BC about the coilovers and they said it is made to lower the car and can not be ran at stock height. I wish they could be ran at stock I would have had them by now.

they make front camber kits for the rdx just not rear. if you use the eibach springs they are a smidge out on the camber in the rear but not up front the toe is just fine.. per my alignment guy "as long as you stick with your normal tire rotation you wont notice the tire wear as much" which is true ive had the springs on for a year havent noticed any abnormal tire wear
for the shocks that just all depends on driving of the person i know the shocks on the acura are weak to begin with.. my fronts are still oem and my rear is kyb the kyb are a smidge stiffer IMO and since most heavy things go in the rear i figured it made sense to

I've been on Eibach springs +4 years and +75,000 miles. So far, no issues with OEM shock front/rear. I imagine my butt sensor might not be as sensitive and more forgiving the more miles I put on the RDX. Tempted to replace the OEM shocks when the RSB comes in.
I have the same issue during alignments with the camber being out in the rear. I rotate the tires every oil change and cross rotate every other oil change with no noticeable problems with tire wear. I get more tire wear from the sh-awd than the negative camber.

I've been on the eibach's for quite a while now. Front has always been fine, rear has been juuust within spec in the rear, but does give me neg camber. I think my stock shocks may be a lil softer after the years of travel through a different stroke.
HeelToe says the bigger issue is the toe. My last set of tires had developed some cupping at the end of their life...noisy nasty cupping, and only in the rear.
Oh yeah, called progress, and was only able to leave em a message... i'll hit em up again tomorrow and see when they can get me in. Good news is its only a 5-10 min drive up the fwy if traffic isn't bad. I'm trying to get in asap now that two a days practice is over.

KenB350z,
Swaybars will not help with launch. They help in "side to side" movement.
Unless you change suspension geometry, the only realistic solution would be stiffer springs in back and adjustable shocks (set to stiffest compression).
Sent you a PM on BC coilovers.

If there's any opportunity for me to do so I will.
I also mentioned how the exisiting avaialable CO's don't allow near enough adjustment in the rear...but they said on any CO project it usually takes damn near a year to R&D it and get the valving correct for the vehicle. doesn't seem to be any plans to do so, but I tried to plant the seed...if they made a set with proper adjustability, theyd corner the market....and many 2nd owners are coming in ready to mod the future rare classic.

how about adjustable hard parts that will fix our toe and camber issues cause I for one am sick of having to rotate tires every 2500 miles... just to get them to last 20000 miles if I'm lucky...
#151
you have toe issues? did you try wearing socks? =) i been wanting to talk to heeltoe about our rear toe arms.. hes been busy lately ill try to get ahold of him again and talk about our suspension again

Just picked the RDX back up. No bar on it, but sounds like they did get everything they needed to do done.
When the part is done, I'll come back in for fitment and testing.
I asked what would be included, they said stock links to be used but it should include bushings, & reinforcements.
The guy that pulled it up for me was the one working on it. I mentioned the other issue we want solved... Camber, toe, coilovers too low. We'll see if they get the bug to do CO. who knows, but I wish. I mentioned the same to heel toe a while back. There might be someone he can work with for adj arms for toe. Maybe we an get that going too.
They also said we have 19mm stock, but plenty of room. They're thinking 22mm with 2 hole adj.

I'm almost at 80k, figuring I'll do the sway bar and Shocks all at once....(unsure if OEM shocks last 100k?)
