Snow Fun

So this past September I purchased a 2010 RDX. I have wanted one for years and finally pulled the trigger this year. I really could have used it last winter. For all you west coasters on here you will know what I am talking about!

Anyways, as I have read on here a lot of us have been craving to drive in the snow, so last night I drove up to Cypress Bowl Ski Area, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics freestyle skiing and snowboarding events.

I found a few parking lots that had a good foot or more of snow. All I can say is WOW. I have never owned an all wheel drive vehicle until now. This vehicle handles the snow like it does a windy road in the summer. I am still in awe of the handling, even with the stock all seasons.

I am definitely glad I found an empty parking lot to rally in for a while. My confidence is very high now, and look forward to what winter will bring us this year. Now I hope for a repeat of last years record snow falls!

That's good news about the stock tires. I've been wanting an RDX for over a year now, and finally pulled the trigger when the dealer agreed to the prices I wanted for the RDX and my trade. Just picked it up this past Friday, and all I can say is WOW! Was afraid I'd miss my RSX, but that went out the window after about five minutes in the RDX.

I'll run the stocks for about 30k miles and then I'm getting rid of them. I've hated these same tires on my 04 TSX, and my 07TL.

When is Acura going to wise up and put a QUALITY All-Season tires on their cars...I mean if they are going to TALK THE TALK with how well their cars handle in all 4 seasons with the SH-AWD...then WALK THE WALK with the rubber you put on that SH-AWD system!

Yeah, the weakest link of the RDX in snow is the tires. The stock OEMs are OK when new but go down hill quickly. This will be my second winter on the stock Michs but my RDX has less than 10K miles so they're still decent. I'll decide come next winter 2010/2011 if I'll swap them out.
