Question should I get RDX ?

I own a 2004 TL WDP, and wanna change the ride, I only consider Honda/Acura badge.

Best choice would be an MDX with TECH but it is way to expensive for me (I pay cash)

My wife owns a 07 ODY and I have to decide between RDX or Ridgeline or CIvic Si Mugen
they are all arround 30k, for Ridge I would have to buy 22" rims and tires and some othe accesories, exchange the leather trim into custom one, ...

RDX looks good to me - but it also needs some improovement in terms of apperance - bigger and wider rims 19' or even 20" while Stock look just poor. Personally I hate german cars, but when you look at BMW (any model) they are one and the only car maker that has big, wide and nice OEM rims.

Civic Si Mugen needs no comment - different car nothing to compare with suv or truck

Tell me should I get RDX what You like most, what makes you angry with the car...

First, go buy a bunch of car magazines that reviwes the RDX or check online (lots of info there). Check out some of the threads already posted here about the RDX, pros and cons.
Then finally, go to a dealer and test-drive it.
You make the final decision...

Also - consider the Pilot, it's really a nice SUV. My biggest drawback was the lack of performance and no O/D lockout....but it was by far the most comfortable of any SUV in the class IMHO.

If you want performance, you must get the RDX.

can i somehow compare TL and RDX in terms of performance, although TL is much faster but RDX is gettin' low 7sec up to 60mph, I have read almost every issue and thats the reason I think about RDX, Pilot is nice but we will get new one in fall but I need a car within max 2 months

What do you want? performance? or just a family fit SUV?

RDX is comfortable, enjoyable, fun to drive, looks great(oh..and an SUV that drives like a tight ground car....turns great..drives great..)...it's just an overal great car.
(oh...ranked #1 on mini-suv/cuv)

As I have written my wife already has ODY so everything I need seems to be RDX, I like higher ride than TL, when I drove Ody it's just nicer to have everybody arround, that's why I considered Ridgeline, it is much slower and not so comfortable but it can look very good after some visual mods.

I really wanna ask You if you have optional bigger rims ? while I do not like the stock 18"

I don't know what kind of engine they put in the RDX in Europe but over here in the USA the TL is NOT much faster than the RDX. Over here, all reviews have RDX timed as fast as 6.5 and as slow as 6.8. Over here Acura TL is below 6 seconds ONLY with the six-speed manual transmission. Over here the automatic transmission is most popular and is slower than the manual. It's been timed from the low 6s to the high 6s, with auto trans., so speed is similar to RDX.

I know a lot of car companies put smaller engines and manual transmissions in the same model destined for Europe. Apparently, European and American preferences differ. Great example is the Land Rover LR2, a direct competitor to the RDX. Only the American LR2s are getting the 240 HP V6 engine with auto trans. The Euro market gets a 194 HP engine. I can't remember if that one is 4 cylinder. But the same SUV in Europe is called the Freelander 2. Over here it's the LR2.

Since you are in Europe, you might want to check country variations, if any, on the RDX.

Good post, and may i add to that, figure out what you need first...i think that will dictate your decision. If you are comparing cars to suv's, sounds like performance is on the top of ur needs list. if that is the case, i would say the one thing that makes the RDX stand out in my mind vs the TL is the inclusion of SH-AWD. after that, i would say that overall performance are about neck n neck ( we have a TL in the family and i actually enjoy driving the RDX much more) the TL is quick, but the SH-AWD would make it better all around. Figure that the RDX is in 0-60 in the 6's, add the cargo capacity and the benefits of having an suv, performance closely matching the TL --> unless you want a car, for the price and benefits, id go with the RDX.

I'm confused. If you are in Europe...why are you considering RDX, TL and Ridgeline when none of these models exist in Europe?....how did you get a 04 TL there in the first place?

it is easy, I worked in USA in 2004 for advertising agency, and I visit States once a year at least,

I import cars for some customers while teh prices You have are a lot cheaper, not only in cars, but Macbook I bought last year is aprox 35% cheaper than here, you got the answer why

comparing prices in german cars like ML 320CDI or GL you double the price, same BMW, Audi !!!

everybody when dolar is so low buys goods in USA, clothes, swiss watches, electronics....

you just visit dealer pick a car you want and pay cash and its done, I am gonna spend aprox 9 days from 26th till 3rd Jan so thats why I asked about RDX, end of year it right time, you get bigger discounts
