should i buy an RDX. ADVICE!

Were buying my grandma a certified RDX trying to figure out whats better...she wants white on black with tech package..ive narrowed it down to 2. both are white on black, tech package, and sh-awd package

2008
19k miles
$32000 out the door

OR

2010
6k miles
$35300 out the door

Is it worth the extra $3300 dollars for the 2 years newer? Both are 7 yr 100k miles warrenty, so the 2010 would last two years longer because it was from date of original purchase. My grandparents dont really care about changes in the car such as if the body structure has changed they dont know any better.

is it worth getting the 2010, whats the extras it has the 2008 wont? Thanks!

depends also that there are certain options that are standard on the 2010 vs the 2008. may want to look into those as well. also if they prefer the newer body style as well. i have an 07. i like the older body style though. as far as options. i would have liked the memory seats, passenger power seats. also i believe the tech package in the 2010 have more options like weather and also can dl phone book on your cell for bluetooth and other options like that.

I think it comes down to body style. I also like the 07-09 body style better after seeing the 2010 RDX.

The only real difference between the 08 and 10 are:

- A longer warranty period (2 yrs left compared to the full 4 yrs); which, you may not really need
- Different exterior styling (f/r bumpers, rims mostly)
- XM weather on the 2010 (I dropped my traffic on the 08 because it was too much $$$)
- power passenger seat

You can't go wrong with either vehicle.

The price seems a little high for the 2008 RDX. You can get the 2008 about $1500-$2000 cheaper than $32000 out the door if you show them other dealers with similar vehicles (2008 tech in any color). Around $29,500 out the door should be the starting point.

Can't say I'm much help. I never paid too much attention to the RDX having owned an MDX since 2001. However, starting a month or so ago, wief went looking for a new and smaller vehicle. THis past weekend we purchaed a 2010 RDX and love it so far.

If price is not really an issue than go for the newer vehicle, usually the better choice, and more warranty....: Good luck either way both are great vehicles...

p.s. I own an 07 White/ebony tech 40K mi. and i could be happier...

Hi,

We are thinking of purchasing a 07 RDX and wondering about the maintenance cost. The 07 RDX reviews are good so it looks like it's in the running however we're not sure about the maintenance cost. Our last vehicle was extremely costly to maintain and to add to the nightmare the engine blew up after 2.5 years of owning the vehicle. If we would of done our research we wouldn't be in the situation we're in now. Lesson learn...we are doing our homework this time and the RDX looks good but we are wondering about the cost to maintain the vehicle. Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks

The 07 RDX is only a few Acura vehicles with very little 1st year bugs compared to the 04 TSX, 05 RL, 04 TL and 07 MDX. Other than the 07 having a stiffer ride compared to later models (which a lot folks perfer), the only real difference between an 07/08/09 is the what is left on the factory warranty period and final sales price.

The only limitation that I can think of is certain models of 09 and all 10 RDX's can not do the Hondata reflash.

My 08 RDX has about 33,000 miles on the ODO. It has been nothing Acura scheduled services (oil changes, tire rotations, cabin filter, etc..) and I had warranty work done (blown speaker and re-lube front driver door). I think I've spent more washing both my cars at the car wash compared to maint cost over the years.

Thanks for the feedback, actually that's what sold me when I test drived the 2007 RDX the stiffer ride, it was a toss up between the Nissan Munrano which my husband like more because of the smoother ride and steering but guess who won that one! Although he did like the RDX, if the pre inspection is given the OK we will purchase the RDX on Monday. We are approximately 1500 miles away so we've hired a certified inspector and appraiser. Hopefully everything will work out because I'm really impressed with the 07 RDX... Thanks again much appreciated....

Go with 2010 Model for sure

1) Newer design, 2) Better Mileage, 3)Much Better Braking, 4)Lesser turbo lag, 5)Improved Navigation and few more improvements. 2007/09 had a few issues with braking and turbo lag

Definitely go for the 2010 model. I bought the Grigio/Ebony w/ Tech for $32200 in CA, and nothing beats the new car smell in the morning!

Go 2010

As you mentioned, the newer one will have longer warranty so much will be covered. If you are getting CPO from dealer, I think that will add even more to their coverage. So, if they decide to sell or trade in the future, the car will be far more saleable and get better $

The tech package will be important, and I think there are more bells and whistles on the 2010. So far, it's been a ball learning the quirks. G

PS Just noticed this is an old, APRIL post. Would like to hear from OP what they finally did!
