SH-AWD fuse

What would happen if I remove the SH-AWD fuse under the steering column (#1 fuse 7.5Amp)? Would it make the car to drive like FWD? Actually I tried once (got sh-awd warning light) but didn't see any difference in behavior/mpg. Does the rear differential just stops working (no rear torque)?

Either it won't show on the MID, or it won't torque vector, but 10% will still be going to the rear, just no more... If you want it completely disabled, remove the driveshaft, and plug the driveshaft/tranny connection so tranny fluid doesn't leak, well, this works on transfer cases, so I wouldn't know for sure how the heck to do this, look at a 2010-2012 FWD, and create it from there... But honestly, it will stress the front suspension more, and the driveshaft is not heavy at all, under 10 lbs, maybe less that 8...

This is truly speculation...

The weight is in the torque vectoring system in the rear, that's the rear differential, now that's heavy, but the axles may be attached to it...

If your trying to save fuel, this isn't the way...

The mpg sucks, I just got 12.6 the other week...

12.6 MPG? What were you doing, flooring it from stop light to stop light, then revving the turbo in neutral at the light. Wow, I think it is bad if I dip below 20 on average when I drive the FWD RDX. Course I haven't driven it in three weeks now from the air bag fiasco. Nobody be on the road early tomorrow morning in Orlando cause she is going for a little jaunt to keep the fluids stirring up a little. Tired of driving around the heavy feeling Cadillac SRX.

I got 12.6 once, I normally get high 13s to low 14s if I don't idle too much...

Normal driving, pretty light acceleration, and about 3 to 5 WOT runs a week...

I just had my oil and transmission fluid changed, I plan on a big tune up in 25,000 miles or so including spark plugs...

I also will be doing an intake and hopefully Hondata soon, that will also help a bit...

I hope with all of this to get 16-17 instead of 13-14, and it should work...

I see a lot of people flooring it from stoplight to stoplight. Not really sure why people do that. I tend to feather it and coast a lot in city driving, because what's the point if the next block has another stoplight?
