scrashed my rear bumper, not very serious, any suggestions?

hi, i have a white rdx. Today, when i pulled out my car from the stall, the rear bumper was scrashed(can not see the wall because the camera view is not wide enought ), not very serious, but when you touch it, you can feel the burr.... I feel not so bad, does anyone have a good way to fix it...? can i use wax? I know wax works for not very serious hurt for metal, but the bumper is plastic.... appreciate any suggestions.

cheers

It all depends on if it's a real (deep) scratch or just a paint mark. If it is shallow and just paint, you might want to try a product you can get at any auto-type parts store (Pepboys, Autozone, Wal-Mart, etc.) that is used to clean the plastic rear windshields of convertible. It can also be used to clean dirty plastic headlights and the plastic windshields on motorcycles. It is a great product to use on plastic bumpers because it has a light abrasive that will remove the mark. It works especially well when you have a paint transfer (ie, you hit the side of your garage door and now have a white mark on your car from the wood, etc.).

Paint is paint regardless of what material it is painted on to. There are basically going to be 3 different level the scratch may have gone down to. The top layer being the clear coat, the second layer being the paint, and the last layer being the material it is painted on to, metal or plastic. If it is scratched down to the metal or plastic then there's nothing you can do short of touchup paint or repainting. If it is a minor scratch down to the paint, or a scratch on the clear coat, then you may be able to buff it out. You can try any decent brand polishing compound. When using polishing compound, put some effort into the polishing, it is not a simple wipe on wipe off type product and will require some elbow grease.

If you are unsure of any of this, then take it to a detailing shop and ask them about the scratch and your best way to fix it.
