Running Boards

I'm thinking of putting running boards on my 07 Tech. Any feedback on pros and cons? Any good aftermarket or do you have to go through Acura?

I am looking to do the same.

I am going to go with the oem one from the curry acura ebay store. They have free shipping in the us. That is the cheapest I have been able to find it for.

I just got mine yesterday. They are not in the way when entering the vehicle and are very strong and sturdy enough for me to stand on them to access the roof rack and future roof box and right now I weigh 215lbs.

I mentioned this in another post, but I'll mention it here as well

If you're interested in buying the running board, I just picked them up from Curry Acura, but I didn't buy the kit. The cheapest I can find the kit is on eBay is $425 shipped, but if you buy the parts separately from Curry Acura, it cost me about $377 shipped, so about $50 saving, just look up the part numbers:

08L33-STK-20001 Right Side
08L33-STK-20002 Left Side
08L33-STK-200R1 Hardware Mounts, you'll need 2 of these

Thanks. This is helpful. I was looking at these parts and the kit.

Do you know if you needed part lines 4-6 in the link below?

I believe parts on lines 4-6 in the link below come with the 3 parts you ordered? Can you confirm please

I had running boards in my RDX and they were very helpful, particularly because I had a roof box and it made loading and unloading a bit easier.
Also, even though the RDX is not a very tall car, makes access easier for you and kids (if you have any), the downside is that you must use it every time or risk getting your pants dirty if you try to simply jump to the ground (your pants will rub against the boards)

My wife didn't care for them as they hit her calf as she exited. Wasn't a big deal until it was wet or snowy.

On the flip side, I found it my easier to wash, wax, and dry the roof with them.

Now they are sitting in my garage. Too bad you don't live near here (Oklahoma City), I'd let them go for a steal to get them out of my garage.

I just sold them on Friday to user Hmax in NY.

It would have been MUCH easier selling locally (not having to wrap them up!), sorry, but they are bought, paid for and shipped!

I guess the people who know about this car generally like it being acurazine and the acura reps/techs, but every single family member and friend hate it. oh well.

I was lucky enought to buy the running boards from dr427. His was a deal i coulndt pass up, plus my company has a corporate fedex account so shipping didnt cost much at all.

I really wasnt in the market but I read his post on here saying its just taking up space, so i said what the heck, let me see what he wants and to my surprise very reasonable

Long story short, It was an unbelievable deal plus yeah the box is hella big, lol and I am grateful he packed it up for me

the running boards are great in helping my 3 yr old going up and down the backseat. my wife likes them too especially got getting off the car so she doesn't get the bottom of her pants all wet.

one thing tho, not sure if it's because of it is made out of aluminum and is hollow, there's always a "clicking/snapping" sound when stepping on them.

other than that, they are extremely practical.

Don't be a wuss, you should be able to get them done right about the time hypothermia sets in.

Just kidding, but once it does warm up they are fairly easy to install even for just one person. Take a little manipulation of your leg holding one end with you screw in the other. Other than that to get them started it is quite easy.

Put those black brackets on the boards inside before you go outside.

Running Boards

I'm interested in purchasing running boards for my recently bought 2013 RDX. Why did Acura makde a running with no step up for the driver, and front passenger? At least it appears that way in photos.
