Rear Brakes/rotor caps rusting

I have a 2007 RDX and the caps or covers for the rotors? (not exactly sure what they are called) are rusting. Attached is a pic. It just doesn't look good, so I was wondering if it was normal or what I could do to fix it. Do I just need to replace them?

normal... fyi the 2010 had them "upgraded" for better corrosion properties - hence i presume honda knew about this problem already (otherwise, why the upgrade)...A new “Geomet” coating on the rotors prevents corrosion, ... added fyi: there are quite a few subtle differences btwn 07 vs 10 in terms of little things -- better road feel (less harsh), the geomet coating fwiw, rear view camera as std, etc etc...

you may want to paint the cover if youre into it... personally, i wont sweat it

Thanks for the info. If its normal and not going to hurt anything I'll just leave it as is for now.

Lightly sand and paint the rotor hat and lip with POR-15. It will provide a gloss surface for the life of the rotor and a few years after that. (You could make a clock out of it ).
