RDX side window deflector

Does anyone installed a side window deflector or found one that fit on our RDX?
I used to purchase weathertech one for my cars, but they are not available for our RDX

I also want a set of these window deflectors.
I have been looking for them for a very long time and have come up with nothing. If anybody finds them please post a new thread.

Thanks

Keep asking them to make one. If we have enough people request that, they may make it.

Thanks for the link. I just sent in a request. If a few of us do it, maybe they will speed things up.

I had called them a few months back and they said it should be available in 3 months/ March 2009. I still dont see it on their web site.

Had these on my TSX and loved them.

had them in all my previous cars and they're wonderful.

i asked weathertech 3 months ago and they said they're not planning on making them any time soon but do suggest me to keep checking.

found one seller on ebay selling the tape-on ones but not sure how well they would fit...

I think WeatherTech's window deflectors have better quality than AVS's. Seem like AVS's are taped on. Doesn't look that good.

I had the AVS on my CRV they are very sharp around the edge and the tape didn't hold very well.

Well, I have black RDX so the taped on ones might not be that bad. However, Weathertech are really well made. I will wait a bit longer to see if they are really planning to make them or just blowing smoke.

well since i really wanted the window deflectors to be able to open the windows a bit during the summer, i ended up ordering a set of AVS ones last night.

will snap a few pics and do a quick review once i received and installed them.

Thumbs down

apologies for the delay. i just got the package last friday and as soon as i opened the package i discovered one of the front deflectors was crack so i emailed them and they will be sending me a replacement. talk about having good first impression

my initial thoughts - the fit and finish of these AVS ones are below standard. the edges are sharp and uneven, looks like they just machine cut them without any sanding/polishing. with one of the front deflectors cracked, i only mounted the rear ones and i can already tell that water will seep through the 3M tapes because there are areas where the tape just doesn't make contact with the window trim.

they're not scoring any point on the appearance either, our RDXs deserve better than these. to be honest i was quite disappointed, didn't think they could be this bad and that's why i didn't even bother taking any picture. but if anyone wants to see how the rears ones are on my RDX let me know i'll snap a few before i decide to take them off.

on another note, i've been thinking if the ones for the newer CRVs (07+) would fit our car. alternatively, we can wait for the weathertech ones, whenever they decide to make them for the RDX...

so here is my 2 cents on these AVS deflector. happy to answer any question you may have.

That's a shame. Thanks for trying them out.

I dont know if any CRV ones would fit. My neighbors have 2 new ones and the rear side windows are different. Dont know if the fronts are the same or not.

Logically, if Weathertech made ones for another vehical that fit ours, they would simply put them out with new labeling RDX. So I'm not hopeful of that.

Well, just got off the phone with Weathertech. The girl on the other end said there isn't anything showing up in the developement side for RDX. I then asked about the fit of their CRV deflectors. She said, not they wont fit the RDX, or else they would have put that up on their site. *sigh*

As a side note, I have their cargo liner. It's really nice and fits perfectly. Covers the entire rear area. I have the factory one, as a 'gimmie' when I purchased the RDX. Doesn't fit the full back. More of a plain rounded tray.

thanks CSpaR for following up with weathertech. wonder what it would takes for them to start making these for us... and that really sucks. i can't stand these AVS deflectors anymore, they look out of place and i'll most likely be taking them off before this winter.

sounds like we're out of luck on this one...

Do you mind taking a few pics for us to see how they look? If these are the only choice maybe some of us might settle for them.

A close up of the deflector edges, a distance pic of the rdx, a side pic showing how the deflectors stick to the window, etc..

Umm.. yeah. well, to me they do look pretty poorly constructed. I think I'll hold off for a bit.

Thanks for taking the time to put up the pics.

I'm surprised that Acura doesnt make them.

How did this visor hold up so far?

Can you take a picture of both front and rear together in one picture?
Does the visor stick out a lot or is it tuck in like the weathertech ones.

@JCRDX11

the visors are still on the car for almost 2 years now. i was going to take them off but decided to keep them on until the weathertech ones become available, unfortunately they never did, and i now plan on getting a MDX so these will stick around.

here's a pic with all the visors on, again, you be the judge.

thanks for the picture - does the visor have any water coming thru or leaks?
How is it holding up so far? Is the tape holding it up good

initially there water was sipping though but then i added additional 3M tape and that seemed to have done the trick. they are holding up and aside from them not looking that great i have no other issue.

I was just at Weathertech site again, hoping to see the RDX deflectors available.. they are not. Jeez.

Well, I looked at their MDX model and it looks very similar to the RDX windows. I wonder if the MDX ones would fit?

No because the window size are different.
I had sent another request to weathertech asking them how the MDX has it when the windows are almost the same besides the size.

I mean come on...even the freaking Yaris has a set of weathertech.
Next thing you know they will have it available for a yugo before the RDX.
