RDX Reverse Backup Sensors

has anyone had these installed? got mine and it seems like the beeper thing is not loud enough to notice when backing while your the radio is playing.. its not audible enough unless you turn of the radio. was wondering if anyone has an idea on how to turn the volume/loudness on it up and also when i lock it using the standard fob it beeps so quietly that sometimes you dont even hear it beep at all, is there a way to make it sound a bit louder too?

also the placement of the backup sensors differs from the placement they show on there brochure and accessory manual. mine has 4 sensors 2 of which are the top side of the rear bumper while the 2 other is on the middle part of the bumper.. on the brochure and accessory manual, they show all 4 sensors aligned and spaced evenly at the middle part of the bumper.

I got these installed by the dealer before delivery, and the placement sounds like how yours are done (not as you describe from the manual and brochure). I hadn't noticed any problem with the volume of the beeping, but then again I don't usually have the radio turned up very loud when just starting the car, which is predominantly when I'll be backing up.

I assume your question about the beep after locking using the fob is a separate issue having nothing to do with the backup sensors. Are you talking about the beep you get if you click "lock" twice? I agree that beep isn't very loud, but I've never had a problem hearing it. Have you tried going to your Acura dealer and listening to the beep from a couple of other RDX's on the lot? That will tell you whether or not yours is abnormally quiet and also give you a chance to ask a salesman if there's a setting for the volume.

I just had the keyless entry beep thing on my RDX replaced two weeks ago. From what I understood, the module wasn't sending enough power to the siren or whatever it is to make the beep and therefore the beep isn't as loud. Just take it in and have the dealer check it out. Be prepared to leave your car there for a few hours though since it's behind the front bumper and they'd have to take it off to get to it.

I just looked at my invoice. The dealer called it the "keyless entry buzzer." Good Luck.
