RDX OEM 18" rim color code?

Does anyone know the color of the RDX factory rim?

I had a friendly tire shop scratch mine and I want to ensure the repair shop uses the correct color code.

Thx.

post pictures of the scratch, now I am curious to see how bad it is....isn't the scratch on the "inside"? If so, I would just leave it alone if they are not going to pay....your best bet for the color code is the dealer.....

I would post pictures, however as of yet I don't have the privledges. I spoke with my local Acura dealer who informed me that they are not provided the paint color code for the rims either, and suggested I see a paint manufacturer who could match the paint.

Interesting to know, but a little surprising that those color codes are not available even to the dealership.

I went to a paint shop today and the owner looked at the scratch and informed me that the paint couldn't be matched. The paint operation is performed by a robot, with a pre-determined quantity of paint applied to each rim...this I/we all could have guessed. Anyway following the base coat only the exterior of the rim is painted by the robot, and any that would find its way inside the rim is simply over spray. Basically inconsistent metallic paint surface. I found all this interesting which is why I am explaining.

Anyway the owner then when and basically mixed a silver metallic paint on a paint can lid and along with a drop of darker blue, and white metallic paint mixed the perfect match to the paint on the rim.

I was totally impressed. Anyway worst case next year I may get them stripped and powder coated, maybe gunmetal.

im a bit confused - where is the scratch, how bad is it, how deep is it, and is it something that is worth painting or replacing

http://www.bmwtips.com/tipsntricks/w...uff-repair.htm

there are ways to help your scratch besides going all out like above, severely clean the scratch, polish it etc, really get into it like any other scratch repair but besides that, have you checked locally for services that perform this type of stuff, just like windshield repair on sight, and scratch repairs on the car, there are less evasive solutions

"Anyway the owner then when and basically mixed a silver metallic paint on a paint can lid and along with a drop of darker blue, and white metallic paint mixed the perfect match to the paint on the rim" do you mind translating that to make a little more sense or something, i dont understand that at all - did he or did he not match the paint and or fix/re paint the rim?
